Honestly, many people including me is looking at Bitcoin more as an investment asset (which we are wishing can be rising up all the time though this is impossible) more than a payment network and that is the reason why we are holding on to it and will not be moving no matter what.

Since we are thinking more like an investor rather than as a consumer,  should we then look at Bitcoin as a long-term investment just like getting into real estate? And how long is the long-term here, 5 years, 10 years?

In my opinion it depends from which point of view you look at, indeed many people think Bitcoin is an investment and that is not wrong, because many people buy cheap and sell it when the price goes up and we don't know how long it will take them as holders to make a profit.  But in my personal opinion Bitcoin is just a tool for transactions such as banknotes but digital with a different system.

I think bitcoin is not profitable for long term investment, We all know bitcoin is volatility. If you want to get big profit for long term you can choose altcoin or real estate. They are more profitable. Bitcoin is good hold for several months, maybe max one year, Not more.

If we think not as a consumer, but as an investor, we will see that the number of investors in the market is constantly increasing. This is because people are once very attracted to gold and careful. Nowadays, however, the educated people who know about Bitcoin, those who have ideas about shops, above all those who have knowledge about Bitcoin. Nowadays, there is a tendency to invest in Bitcoin. They know that Bitcoin will improve a lot in the future. Freelancers, big and small, are using Bitcoin as an investment medium.

I agree that we can say that having Bitcoin can be similar in having an investment.

In investing, we expect that it will generate income or appreciation. The higher risk we give in, the higher returns we can get. If we invest our monies in properties now, it will surely be higher in price after several years.

Same with Bitcoin if you look at the trend/graphs showing the increasing value of it. You can surely say that holding Bitcoin is same as investing in physical assets because they appreciate over the years.

Investors are focusing more on Bitcoin for long-term investments. However, if the price of Bitcoin rises slightly every day and continues to rise, people will start buying Bitcoin overnight. Then the price of Bitcoin will continue to rise. Because when there is demand in the market, it will not take long for the price to rise. An increase in the price of Bitcoin will make investors more prosperous. So now investors are engrossed in long-term planning.

Assuming everyone decided to hold their bitcoins long-term, what could possibly happen?

The price of Bitcoin can go up in the right time frame, no need to wait years!  Because sometimes the Bitcoin price can go up within 1 month up and down again, up again and down.
So continuously, so if we invest in Bitcoin it is better if we always update the price in the market, so that we can sell Bitcoin when the price goes up, and wait again to buy it at the price goes down.

Bitcoin is a currency for long-term investment. Many new investors are added to Bitcoin every day. Because Bitcoin is known as a trusted currency. Those who are new to cryptocurrency, or if someone helps a newcomer. Then at first he was given an idea about Bitcoin. The next time he becomes a expert or entrepreneurial investor he starts investing on Bitcoin. In short, the person does not have to teach anything. So Bitcoin is the currency of choice for long-term investments.

Yes, because of the regulations on the prohibition of using bitcoin for payments made Bitcoin rejected in several countries, but for long-term investments, such as the Bitcoin price in 2017-2018, Bitcoin took approximately 10 years to reach $20k.
In conclusion if I have money that I don't really need for anything else, then I will buy bitcoin and hold it until 2028. Maybe too long, but bitcoin already has a lot of community members and holders believe the price will increase in the next few years.

Bitcoin can be said to be an asset that is more valuable than real estate, because bitcoin is another alternative in digital payments, and bitcoin cannot be counterfeited like local currency, so it will be profitable to invest in bitcoin in the long term
Bitcoin is certainly valuable as a currency, but I would not compare it to real estate. It is at greater risk than buildings due to the still general instability of the crypto market.

How can you conclude it? Instead many people stated that Bitcoin is the proper coin for a long-term holding. Bitcoin price is growing from the bearish in 2018 to the current year, 2020. If you bought 5 BTC when the Bitcoin price below $9,000 and you hold it for years. You have a chance to sell it at a bigger price today and get huge profits.

There are plenty of people around the world to do it. Most people always invest in Bitcoin to invest in cryptocurrencies. The level of investment has increased. As the world progresses, technology improves, and easier ways of transacting and shopping are emerging. So I think with the development of technology Bitcoin will get more and more improved. Transactions will be easier. I wish that all kinds of purchases within our country would be much better if Bitcoin was possible. Many investors plan for long-term investments.

Bitcoin is not suitable for short-term investments. It is not possible to make a very profitable investment in Bitcoin in the short term. Because the price of Bitcoin does not rise overnight. Investing in the bitcoin market must wait a long time. Then it is possible to benefit. So everyone has to make long-term investments. Then it is possible to benefit from long-term investment plans.

All cryptos are volatile to some degree - from this aspect, I don't think altcoins are a better investment.
