Did the ETH 2.0 deposit contract just launch?

There's buzz that the ETH 2.0 deposit contract appears to have been deployed but there has been no official announcement.

There are indications that Eth 2.0 has been scheduled to be launched before the end of the year 2020 but I have not read about the specific date within the year. I think eth 2.0 may commence deposit and withdrawal once a date is specific.
