Some changes in the ranking system.

I think this is a good decision. Currently users will feel the benefit to increase the rank in this system. Anyone can become a Sr / hero / legend / Mythical / Padawan member by following the rules. How acceptable do you think.

Ranking up on Altt is neither easy nor hard, any user contributing regularly should be able to reach high ranks soon.

Ranks are as follows:
newbie : 0 posts
1st step: 1 posts
Baby steps: 5 posts
Jnr. Member: 40-50 posts  + activity factor
Member: around 100 posts + activity factor
Full Member: around 150 posts + activity factor
Sr. Member: state secrets
Hero Member: state secrets
Legend: state secrets
Mythical: state secrets
Padawan: state secrets
? state secrets

Links can not be posted if you are new or before reaching a specific activity level:

I am curious about the requirements rank up to sr member above but the conditions are to become a state secret. I always support admin policies. anyone who contributes and is active in the forum will be able to rank up.

Thats good actually , on my opinion i think adding karma as a condition to rank up will be better for the forum , it will make sure only active and helpful members will rank up and not spammers ..

This is currently the case for higher ranks, Legendary and upwards if I'm not mistaken. I've seen a Hero member with -karma but not higher.

II. Activity Ranks


 

These ranks are based on activity and time based ranking system. Karma applies for some ranks but not all.

Personally I think Hero and above should require positive karma at minimum. Fortunately, most bounties don't allow members with -karma to join, so even if a Hero member tries to monetize their account, it probably wouldn't work anyway. Same applies for lower ranks with -K generally speaking.

I always thank Admin for his innovative idea whether it is rank related or forum development. Some users are hurry for quick rank up but after activity factors will put them some stop to spam. Activity factor is very important to keep silent for that hurry members.

I hope that the forum will maintain the so called friendly forum. I also hope that someday Altcoins talks will become more passionate, interesting, popular than btt, and discipline with love those misbehaving members.
Quick rank up is not the main issue but the one who wants to rank up. Good move by admin to response quickly base on what the major case in the forum. The Forum without community is not a forum. Community builds the forum and the forum builds community. Give and take principle. The forum attract and build community.

Oh, that's why
on 2018 mine was hero member, then I vacum on crypto (for ±2years), when I back the rank was demoted to sr.member.

One again, it seems the 2018 karma system is different from current karma system ?

This is cool information you have shared brother because most of the time newbie ask to us that how they can increase their rank here and i think as soon as they will show this topic then they can easily understand the system of rank here.. It's not a bad idea but I think it will not be good for beginners. because doesn't matter how useful articles you will write, but not many members will give you positive karma! So it may take a lot of time for a deserved member to rank up, and of course, we will see a decrease of members because getting karma in Altcoinstalk will be very hard like getting merits on Bitcointalk!

If nothing changes getting karma in here would never be very hard as everyone can give as much karma as he wants, the only limitation is 100 hour lag to repeatedly give karma to the same user. So the only obstacle is in our minds — don't hesitate to give more karma to good and positive users of our friendly forum!

The form authority and administrator are more skilled and experienced. So they will take the best decision for the forum Their ranking system in the forum is admirable but I think the criteria for promoting higher rank should be opened for all. When people will know the criteria, they will be more serious about it. For example, if 'karma' is added to the criteria for achieving higher rank and published it to all, people will be more conscious to increase the quality of the post and comment so that it can achieve Karma.

And it is a problem itself. Instead of communicating with other people (for what forum is) users start working of rank achieving, what makes conversations more technical and less natural and that destroys forum. Forum is not a job with a salary, it is a place for talking to each other. If you consider is like a place for communication, you'll definitely get higher ranks sooner or later, and there is no need to name all the criteria.
