Is the current market situation the start of the so-called alternative coins season?

I think a lot of us here in the forum have only been involved with crypto since the end of 2017. This period is also called the alt coin season, at least that's how I understood it.
During this time there were around 1000 alt coins on the coin market cap with a value of over 500 billion dollars.
Right now we have around 8,200 coins, excluding Bitcoin, which are worth just under 300 billion.
What does that mean to us?
To inflate the bubble again  to look like it did back then, you would have to invest a lot more money, around 3 times as much as it does now, to get all those ATH´s. And  I'm talking about top 100 coins only.
Sure, there have been some valuable coins in the meantime that you can't count them either.
I'm not sure this will happen.

In my opinion, only the best coins will survive in the long term, some may also have new ATH, our task is to find out which these are before investing. Everything else is gambling.
This of course applies to long-term investors; day traders can benefit from volatility at any time. So, be careful when investing.

It's true, you need to be careful about investing, especially when investing in crypto.  I think a good investment is on the top 10 list on Coinmarketcap, you can hold it for a long time or a short time.  But I personally will avoid buying altcoins for now and try to be patient waiting for the price to fall first, because a fall in price is bound to happen.

I think you are absolutely right that not everyone can achieve success from the entire list of, only those that will be important and they will have real use, and most of them will remain shchtcoins

IMHO, I dont believe it was already an Altcoin season because when we visit the market only a few Altcoins has gaining price momentum, particularly the top-ranking coins like Ethereum and stellar lumens, etc. so thats why its not an altcoin season yet because it's not reflected the majority of listed Alternative cryptocurrencies. or Altcoins in the crypto market.

At any time altcoins bull run could happen because Bitcoin reach $34k. Altcoins bull run is also what some of us believes could happen as it was predicted. Its good to see altcoins are in position to raise.

Of course only the best coin will survive for long just pick the old coins you really gain profit for sure. It is good to see that the market is green so we are already alt season, ethereum is now $1,100, litecoin is also high, cardano also... every coin is increasing except ripple can't push? Too bad.

of course every trader must do deep research about the altcoins that he want to invest in , but i think lot of altcoins will make good profit for the long term and we start seeing that already , xlm made today more than 100% , so you should be a chance hunter ..

I think the good chance for long term is just for old top coins not including the new listed coins. New coins are not really rooted yet for they need more time to develop strong connection to partners and crypto community around the world. Although some coins may increase but I'm not sure if they will remain for a long time.

I still think that btc has a lot of more momentum to grow so do not be mistaken of its peak as of yet and in my opinion the next real alt season will start once btc finds the ultimate peak and then starts to correct.

I am also more inclined to believe that it is safer to buy old coins in the end. They are not only more reliable than new coins, but also grow well. Even if I make less profit, I will still have income.

I think it is still too earlier to say altcoins season. The altcoin season happens when most coins and tokens are increasing very significantly. Now, we only see several coins or tokens that are increasing. New tokens or coins are not yet. Be patient. they will be coming, but be careful with several market corrections that may happen in advance
