Most exciting aspects of Ethereum for 2021?

It looks like 2021 will be an exciting year for Ethereum. From the 30x growth in decentralized finaince locked market cap, to CME futures lunch next week as well as beaconchain's launch in December last year and 2.0 to follow suit, it looks like there is still plenty to come from the largest and most used blockchain platform.

What excites you the most about Ethereum this year and why ?

On the down side Gas fees are killing it right now so ever project using gas is suffering which is a thing to consider as for the community that is pumping eth despite the damage it is doing also makes you consider eth viability and rethink if all that trading volume is fake and eth is a bubble

As you said, transaction costs on the Etherem blockchain are too high and cause Ethereum to lose a portion of the value of crypto = high speed + cheap transaction costs.
I expect ETH2.0 to be finalized and allow the community to experience 15K tps instead of 15 tps, and gas will be 30 gwei instead of 300 gwei.
If this situation persists, users will come to TRON & Cardano

I will happily return to Ethereum when gas fees are 3-30 gwei again that's for sure. The good old days.
Until then the likes of Tron seems advertising to me, even if the price is doing terrible things (against BTC/ETH).

I am also concerned about the issue of payment for gas. But I believe in Ethereum and I hope that the rate will grow little by little regardless of Bitcoin.

The most exciting aspect for ethereum to me is Ethereum 2.0 which is now most expected as most of the tokens in crypto world are developed with ERC20 and now transaction or ERC20 tokens is a matter of cry due to high gas fee.
Ethereum 2.0 is now the most expected topic in cypto world which may be a solution of gas fee with high speed and low fee as mentioned by MrSpasybo.

What worries me the most this year is what Ethereum's price will be. Will he break through the $ 2k mark or not. Or even the price will go down. I am very worried about this.

ETH2.0 is the best becasue its transaction is fast then the other crypto coins and this is good for us becasue in the market just some peoples that will use the ERC20 for the transactions and that is good for us.

Reduced gas fees and higher TPS are all cute but what long term investors really want is the price to soar. The second thing is the transfer of rewards from miners to stakers. There is an issue about further centralization after the transition but that remains to be seen.

But to play along, with the many new DeFi's, you need a bit lower costs in order not to go all in one. This is bothering me right now, I can't decide which one to take. I have already selected my favourites, but they are not on my favourite exchange yet. In the end it will probably be a fund.

The presence of Ethereum 2.0 seems to be the most interesting aspect and is the most anticipated by many people, many people hope that the presence of Ethereum 2.0 will increase the price of this Ethereum. But unfortunately, this increase in Ethereum price was followed by an increase in the price of GAS ETH, which most people complained about.

This is so true  Bitcoin can 2-4x from here, but Ethereum has 5-10x to go it seems, at a conservative estiamte.
For now until 2.0 is functional and gas prices are reduced // gas wars are over // I will speculate on defi projects to increase Ether holdings

I don't like with ethereum although have higher price right now above $1,800 but make gas transaction for coin have ethereum platform need 15$ for only one transaction, look what happen when eth raise to higher price last year we only pay fee with 0.1$ each transaction now we need fee 15$, bad for bounty participants because we have pay much for gas transaction fees.

Welp, I don't feel excited on DeFis that are running on ethereum blockchain. I avoid erc-20 tokens and dex/dapps there actually.

There are a lot of exciting projects that aren't erc-20 right now. On BSC for example, you don't have to worry about transferring as fees could be less than $0.10. If you're not a whale, perhaps you should make the switch too. Imagine having $50 to invest. You can already use that to buy a BSC token. On a erc-20, that will only end up as gas fees.
