Bitcoin is not beating up the crypto market all because it is the most popular part of crypto but yes no other altcoin that is at the level of Bitcoin for now so in a sense it is beating altcoins. However, there should never be a race, in the first place. Altcoins are called as altcoins all because they are considered to be alternative, and they can be playing different roles compared to Bitcoin. We should never be worrying on this. As Bitcoin is having its bull run, there are also altcoins that are making their impressive moves while, of course, there can be those that are still undecided what path to take whether up or down.

This is not to say that this is a victory for bitcoin if it grows in price better than others. This is still the choice of people who invest in it and hope for the further price growth of bitcoin and profit from this growth. I do not think that this will happen for a very long time, since bitcoin is already noticeably lagging behind many other altcoins in its development. Market laws will still work the same for all cryptocurrencies. The finest hour of promising altcoins is still ahead.

On a micro level, Altcoins always beat Bitcoin but on a macro range, most of these Altcoin lose to Bitcoin. The reason is that most people are very confident holding Bitcoin than any other Altcoins in the space, this shows in the dominance of Bitcoin, for now it is 58% and there was a time during Altcoin season that the figure was close to 38%. I a bear market you don't want to be a bag holder because most of these Altcoin can lose up to 90% of their value from ATH

It couldn't be easier to describe, but that's the truth.
Bitcoin is gold, Ethereum is silver and all the others are exchanged depending on the season.
Sometimes the one coin of the respective sector is more important, sometimes the other. You always have to focus on the most important coin of the respective sector and a few others who may be able to take the lead in the sector. If the development of the respective coin stops, the other one becomes more important. That's why we now have the defi's on the advance and the top 50 of 2018 has changed.
