Actually, the gas fee from ethereum has started to go down, although it is not as cheap as the solana and TON networks, but this is already a good thing that the ethereum team has done. Vitalik always thinks about their problems, and we know that ethereum has been the most popular network for years. and the competition in the network is getting tighter between ethereum, BSC, slana and TON.jm
Ethereum gas fees have recently surged, with users now paying upwards of 10 Gwei, and in some cases nearly 50 Gwei, per transaction. The renewed vitality of the Ethereum ecosystem has driven this increase, making it significantly more expensive than many other blockchains.
However, this has seemingly never been a deterrent for Ethereum, perhaps due to its reputation as a blockchain primarily used by high-net-worth individuals. In fact, this surge might even be seen as positive news, as it will lead to a higher burn rate of ETH, a deflationary asset. This increased burning could potentially fuel further price appreciation and generate greater returns for investors.
I did look at the current gas fees on Ethereum on etherscan.io and it's around $0.93 (Low) to $1.02 (High).
I mean if you will ask those who paid very high gas fees in the past, this is already very low, but compared to those L2's out there, this is the most expensive one.
We know that when there's something that's on hype that's under ETH blockchain, gas fees will go up again like what happened in the past. Currently, not that much is happening around Ethereum hence, we are seeing a decrease in gas fees. As for me, I would rather use other L2's out there than Ethereum just because of the lower transaction fees. What's surprising me is that, there are still people who are still using Ethereum for transaction for some unknown reasons (at least I don't know the reason to it).
Seeing it's transaction fees surge might be a good thing because more ETH will be burned, but it will not be attractive especially to those average investors who wants to make a transaction with the lowest fees as possible.
