I would like to become realistic at this point. I would like to share my own honest opinion that even Ethereum is so much popular it cannot overtake the place of Bitcoin as the top 1 and the main coin in crypto ecosystem. Bitcoin is so much popular and potential over any altcoins. No one like Bitcoin at the present.

Bitcoin is the crypto currency which is the top among all crypto currencies and many are trying to compare their token with btc just to become easily recognizable to many investors. Truly btc is the king of crypto, but what if its reign will crash in the future? Will eth can take over the place of btc if there are other cryptos that is more than with eth like bitcoincash?

In my opinion, Its cant be happen now or in the future etherium will replace Bitcoin position because both coins has different function in cryptocurrency world. Even now bitcoin if you notice btc still on the top and gradually make huge its price by every year pass by.

The only way that Ethereum could be in the place that Bitcoin occupies is if Ethereum had appeared before Bitcoin. Ethereum was the first to add smart contracts and new features, but it wasn't the first in the world. Every pioneering coin in its segment (Monero in privacy, Dash in masternodes) continues to have a privileged place, but we must not be mistaken, there are also some coins in privileged places that do not deserve it.

ETH is not takeover the BTC at this time but in future it may be takeover the BTC becasue this time the BTC price is high and the ETH price is low and i hope soon the ETH touches the 10,000$.

There's no tendance of Ethereum taking over Bitcoin now or the future but in the issue if btc is going to crash below Bitcoin ok I can say that etherum can over take btc on that note but nobody we really know what will become of Ethereum in the future weather the price will pursue Bitcoin price in time to come, that's my own opinion.

Do you think it is all about the price? In my opinion, Ethereum cannot overtake Bitcoin because of many reasons, not only about the price. Bitcoin is always being the first coin ever created by Sathosi and it becomes the symbol of freedom in managing our finances in the world. With Bitcoin, we have a decentralized financial system. So, we won't rely on the banks or third parties anymore. This fact cannot be replaced by Ethereum.

I don't think about it and I don't believe Ethereum will replace  bitcoin. Bitcoin is the pioneer of crypto currency, I think It is really difficult. Bitcoin has high demand and big communities. Bitcoin will remain be King for along years again.

If the price of the BTC is down then in future may be the ETH coin will cross the price of the BTC and the ETH coin will run the market becasue this time the price of the BTC coin is high and that coin run all the crypto market coins.

Its been few years already however I still see no chance of Ethereum taking over Bitcoin. Though they are quite different for Bitcoin is a cryptoccurency while the Ethereum is a smart-contract platform, with the current status of the market, there's no way that Ethereum can overthrow Bitcoin on its current throne.

Everyone says that nothing is impossible for cryptocurrency. I will tell you that it is never possible Because I think Ethereum will never be able to overtake Bitcoin.Bitcoin is the hot favorite of cryptocurrencies and one of the more popular coins.
