When we look for the lowest price to buy and the highest price to sell, I think that is something we never get. Therefore we can apply some buying time, when the price goes down we can buy again. And so when we want to sell, if we are sure there will be a higher price we can get, then we can sell it only half or whatever we think is good.

Making a profit is not as easy as we think. We do not know the future, and market predictions are not easy. I usually accumulate Bitcoin from my signature earnings, move it to my wallet, and hold it for the future. Sometimes, I sell it for emergency needs, regardless of the market situation. But I am glad that I am still in profit, and I sold when it was above 90K. It's a good price to take your profit. Also, I am ready with fiat to buy back if the market dumps in the future.

Bitcoin is the only one to be trusted all the time, I would say.
Especially during times when the market is unstable.
Bitcoin should be the priority. But it is no problem to invest in altcoins as well. Altcoins also have good potential profits if we know well the characteristics of altcoins. We must know the best time to buy and sell the altcoins. And we don't be greedy to set a target for taking profits. In the current market condition, you must know that Bitcoin price is also unstable. It is actually not so different with those altcoins.

Maybe for the majority of whale investors, their priority is to invest in bitcoin. Why? Because they are capable of making huge profits here in the future.
But for those like us who are not at their level, I doubt we will make huge profits like them.

Now, since we also want to make a profit like whale investors, the option now for investors like me who are at a moderate level is of course the top altcoins or other old coins in which I think there is really potential to go along with bitcoin's rally so I will also take dca activity on these.

The only thing I believe in is ETH/BNB/SOL - those are probably the 3 assets I still have faith in.
There is no doubt that you can make short term profits from Bitcoin. However, due to lack of capital many people want to hold altcoins. So if we want to always have the possibility of profit by investing in crypto, then we should buy top coins. The price drops drastically but it is easy for Bitcoin to recover to a higher price. In that case the opposite happens for the altcoins market, whenever altcoins are down for a long time it takes a long time to recover to their higher price. Many altcoins holders hold for months to gain some profit.

Those who held Bitcoin and altcoins in this bull market must have understood what they should do. Investing in Bitcoin is safe if you keep it for a long time, but those who keep their wealth in altcoins can increase their fear in the long run. We cannot trust even the top altcoins as much as we can in Bitcoin. One should invest in Bitcoin as much as possible without being greedy so as not to lose long-term wealth. Investing in Bitcoin can be said to be safe for the investor.

When we look for the lowest price to buy and the highest price to sell, I think that is something we never get. Therefore we can apply some buying time, when the price goes down we can buy again. And so when we want to sell, if we are sure there will be a higher price we can get, then we can sell it only half or whatever we think is good.
buying and selling at the right time is a way to make a profit, but knowing when the right time is something that is difficult and requires experience and proper analysis to be able to do it. We know that crypto is very volatile and difficult to predict, this is what makes being a short-term trader very interesting but it takes skill to be able to be good at trading.
I personally buy when I see the market movement is going down and hold it waiting for the price to go up, I will sell it, because I can't guess the right time.
Well that's the pattern, if we wait to buy because we want to get the lowest price then I think we will never buy it. Because when the price goes down, maybe we will wait until the next drop and so on. but when the price turns around, we might consider it too late because of the significant increase, finally we get nothing because we never buy.

We have much experienced about that case, when we are waiting most lowest price always another lowest price doming and the same when selling at highest price just few days later another new highest price reach.
Maybe we must prepare another way likely keep left our capital when investing in cryptocurrency coin or keep left few percent assets when selling after break higher price.
Back to old coins topic, now almost all top altcoin have lower price and recently my top favorite altcoin Ethereum have dump $1,8k and I have invested around 60% of my assets there.

Altcoins are for short-term profits but how will you know the right altcoin to give you this profit. I think that we don't need to look for short term profits because that's what makes people to decide wrongfully and run at big loss. Solana is cool if you ask me.

People become inclined to make quick decisions when they are in a quest for short-term returns on their investments. There is no doubt that many altcoins look promising, but at the same time, many of them cannot survive the pressure in the market. That person, who worries only about quick earnings may lose greater opportunities in the future. Technology and adoption are what one needs to consider since they help in identifying how robust an asset can be. Perhaps, you need to know how some projects with active ecosystems have remained relevant to a market even in the presence of powerful forces. The life situation is also stable in terms of profits when someone is not in a hurry and is engaged in projects with clear development.

The thread was created in 2021 therefore maybe a lot in the mindset of the OP has changed since then. I suppose before investing you have to ask how much of a future do those old coins have in a modern world. People have to be careful before investing because it might end in them losing more than they expected.

I agree with the opinion that investing involves not only earning from the investment but also its importance in the future. It may not have the same level of competitiveness as before and it was good for a previous period, especially if there are novelties that have been manufactured that can do a better job. This is always a good question to ask before investing in an exact asset class to determine whether the project has a purpose in planning for its implementation and if members of the community still endorsed such project. There are a lot of situations when people buy only based on the popularity of the name not realising that this project has already lost its powers. They can lose more than they anticipate just because they lack in adequate analysis of the situation at hand.

BTC still rocks.

SOL, LTC, and many others still rock.

HODLing is still a thing and will probably stay almost the same in the decade to come (at least).

So.. Yeah, the truth is, we just have to wait for more liquidity to push the oldies around, but the market is still moving.

You are right to have come up with this opinion because it is pertinent that one do have knowledge and idea on or about the investment they have intentions in going into, doing this would give them ideas on how to go about their investment and also to know when to invest and as well to know when to sell or withdraw from the investment. Knowing the investment or business cycle is very important when it has to do with crypto and bitcoin, to be precise. This would also give or set a guideline as to how long the investor can be able to hold their crypto or bitcoin investment for the time being before taking profit from it.

Re: Do you still believe in old coins?

         -      It's okay to invest in new projects as long as we know how to identify potential projects like for example there are big business partners supporting their projects. And there are big communities on various platforms like X, Reddit, telegram and discord something like that.

At the same time their roadmap flow is also good and realistic. Now with old coins there is no problem as long as the liquidity is good and the number
of traders is also high, that's all.

I suppose before investing you have to ask how much of a future do those old coins have in a modern world. People have to be careful before investing because it might end in them losing more than they expected.

Hodl long enough - and any old coin would pump eventually, due to overall confidence flooding the market, especially looking at BTC chart / US stock market chart.

That's how I see it and there is nothing stopping a person from managing his funds to invest responsibly and patiently wait.

Some of the "old" coins have become older since the thread was created in 2021. We do not hear much about the old coins making a comeback or having any monetary value. With the exception of Dogecoin, did any other old coin retain any value at all?
