The central bank of Laos intends to explore issuing its own digital currency, according to a media report that provided details on the plan. A study on the matter will commence soon and will be conducted with the support of a fintech startup based in Japan. See more for yourself here.

I am hoping that the country's plan to be a part of the CBDC movement can be helping its economy in general and its people. This is just actually the start of its journey: finding out the viability of introducing its own digital currency controlled by its own central bank just like the fiat money. I am not updated if cryptocurrency is allowed in Laos but I am hoping they also give some time on making top coins be legally traded in the country.
