Learning foreign languages

I'd say that even if not a majority of forumies then a huge part learned English as a foreign language. As me by the way. So mostly all of us learn foreign languages. Let's talk about hints, problems, succeses in that.

As for me I try to learn Chinese at the moment and I find it interesting, but really chalenging. Hyerogliphic language is definitely different than the languages with alphabets. So I'm hardly successful: as for now I can just write some easiest phrases and usually I need dictionary or a translator even for that! But may be... who knows.

What about you? Which languages are you learning at the moment, which do you learned before? What was interesting, what was hard? Which hints do you know to learn languages easier?

I learned a foreign language because it was related to the business that I am currently doing. I have tried several languages, however, the most dominant is still English.

Oh, mother tongue will always be the dominant one not depending on how many else languages have you learned. The only exceptance is if you moved to another country in the earliest childhood. But anyway learning foreign languages helps you understand even your mother tongue better because you start watching it under another angles.

I agree. Mother tongue can be an important identity for everyone. I think it's irreplaceable. However, knowing a foreign language has also become a must, because currently interaction with other nations is unavoidable.

Dear currently i am not learning any type of language. But i am deciding to learn about french language. I have interest in this language to learn. Because i love french peoples.
