The Canadian government under Justin Trudeau is feeling the heat brought about by the growing protest started by the truckers. When it succeeded blocking donation platforms, many shifted to Bitcoin and so what the government did was to threatened people or organizations who used crypto to support the protest movement. As to how far the government can do to make sure that people are not using crypto, this remains to be seen but they know that it is impossible to ban cryptocurrency not unless they can be sending a police to all sympathizers to guard all 24/7. However, the side-effect here is that on the eyes of the Trudeau government crypto is getting to be synonymous with the protest movement and may not look at this industry with some kindness.
