在 2018 年上半年，一只神秘的「亚洲鲸」积累了超过 94,000 个比特币，价值一度超过 7 亿美元，现在它们开始将比特币移回它们的发源地，引发了新一轮抛售的担忧。此后钱包主人开始减持比特币。WalletExplorer 的数据显示，其中很大一部分资金来自新加坡的火币加密货币交易平台和中国的 HaoBTC 平台，这表明钱包主人居住在亚洲，或者至少在使用亚洲经纪商的服务。
