What is Crypto 2.0 (to you)?

I'm currently entering the second leg of an economics course I'm taking on the side, and we finally got to crypto. One assignment we got was "how will the NE, XT crypto be like?", meaning what features will the (hypothetical) next kind or generation or whatever have? I already handed in my answers, but I wanted to get some input from people who know more about this than I do, so I would love for people in here to tell me their thoughts on things like...

- What new technical features will this "futuristic crypto" need to have to survive?

- What features would _you_ like it to have, whether they are important for survival or not?

- What problems will a new generation of "futuristic crypto" have to deal with, in your opinion?

Anything else you feel like adding would be great. I may try to run some replies by the class, but I will not pass on who suggested them, unless given permission, of course

Crypto is evolving, and I still believe its in its neophytic stage. That being said, I think Crypto 2.0 would be an all-encompassing asset that can be assessed in seconds, immutable, with tokenomics a thing of the past, and prices instantaneous. the idea is still ephemeral for now, I guess

for me crypto 2.0 will be where any coin or token will not be manipulated by whales, they are the worst part of crypto as they can easily pump and dump any project they want without caring about its normal users and the project's overall future.

This is a great question OP, I believe a lot of people will have different opinions as what the future cryptocurrencies will look like in terms of feature. In my own opinion, the one thing I would love to see gets curb is the problem of spam. See BSC, Polygon, Stellar and many of the popular EVM compatible chains, they are all right now plaque with the problem of scammers that are constantly spamming the blockchain.

Cryptocurrency 2.0 isn't the same as Blockchain 2.0 imo. While blockchain 2.0 can mean smart contract, world computer, etc., cryptocurrency 2.0 will be a currency that is fast, free/low fees, privacy protected, energy efficient, and decentralized. It's more like BTC with much higher TPS and lower energy consumption for mining.

Totally agree, and I should maybe have made that clear. I'm just looking at crypto, going into blockchain is too wide a topic on this one
