As long as Waves team host cool events to engage the community, I think they have a bright future.
Right now they are celebrating one million blocks reached with a contest. I Rolled 14 Waves :)

Yes waves has potential in the future to be more famous especially the activity of the developer of team waves, for example this 12 July, don’t miss ‘The future of digital transformation’ in Moscow, alongside Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales and other industry leaders including the CEO Sasha Ivanov. The event will explore the next wave of digital disruption set to be brought in by crypto, and Sasha will explore Waves’ place within it.

Registration for the event is free, so secure yours now to avoid missing out on the insight, the discussion and the canapes: https://binarydistrict.com/conference/the-future-of-digital-transformation/

Waves is good future due to mass addoption here is sample http://worldcuptokens.com another football project on waves, tokenizing the teams. Sooner or later we're gonna have our own football team playing in the Premiere league :) And Waves users will be able to vote for all the management decisions.
