LONDON — The price of bitcoin has dropped sharply during trading early in the European morning on Wednesday following a series of troubling developments for the cryptocurrency in recent days.
According to data from Markets Insider, the price of bitcoin dropped below $17,000 in early trade on Wednesday, but has since recovered some ground, although it remains significantly lower, with losses of roughly 3% just below 9.10 a.m. GMT (4.10 a.m. ET), as the chart below shows:
