You made your post in 2018, Imajine what it will be like if you have been holding your bitcoin and ethereum since then. it is over obvious there is a reason why one of the fundamentals of  cryptocurrency is to hold for the long term. Now many has dumped and it is regreting. i have sold my avax, sold my uni, sold out my EGLD and many more.

You probably sold your assets at a time when you believed that their value justified the sale? This happens to all cryptocurrency holders. Now the price is justified, tomorrow it will become higher and bitterness from losses will already appear. Everything is relative.

If you hold a coin, then you need to study its project in detail and if it is really promising, then you can hold it for a long time, and if the project is nothing, then there is no point in keeping the coin of this project in your portfolio.

Yes OP, if you believe in the upward potential of a coin or token in the long run then its a great idea to HODL. This is because as you have stated, it takes time for investors to realised the true potential of any assset thus it takes time for the true value of any assets to come by. So ultimately hodlers are always winners!

Looking at the Bitcoin price reaching $ 37k, I think this is the right time to sell. This is the highest point for Bitcoin this year in quarter 1. So don't waste the opportunity if you can sell.

It depends on the conditions when we buy the token... if 3 months ago you bought one of the tokens, bitcoin, ethereum or the other... when you hold, you can profit now... but if you buy tokens now, you can get profit and you can lose,  it all depends on each analysis and also courage... it's different with token from bounty, you sell at any price you are still profitable, because you don't buy with your own capital... IMO

Whether or not holding coins is an option, when the expected price or expected profit is achieved then you need to sell it, being a holder is very risky because it requires patience and does not get carried away with emotions when the coin price drops, then the pump and dump situation will always happen, never miss an opportunity to sell because you will regret it when the bear market arrives

To hold a coin is very good, but this is good if the coin has a good future/roadmap. But holding shit coins is just packing bags that has no good result. Holding some of the big coins in the market will be profitable at the long run, any other altcoin will be okay if you keep up with its information and the market trends.

Over a long period of time, say 3-5 years, the HODL strategy will be a winning one. I can also say that the attitude of crypto enthusiasts (rather even crypto "hamsters") changes very much depending on which trend is descending or ascending at the time of the question)

Agree with you, holding shitcoins is a big mistake for all investors, because shitcoin is just a tool for projects to raise money from the community, then they disappear or spend that money for the purpose individuals and then announced the project failure, in the end only investors lose money and become the sheep in the eyes of the project team.
Finally, the most important thing for the investor is to review & evaluate the project really carefully before spending money.

Holding is actually the best way to get more profit than day trading, but we must be careful to choose which projects have potential in the future. you can easily get x10 or even x50 from current prices, patience is the knowledge.

I see that the market is now in a bull run stage so i think this was the very best time to sell specially when you brought your coin to token in year 2018 or in a very low price, holding is a great strategy but it always depen on how you handle your emotion or limitation specially on the market that always high on volatility, choosing a good coin to invest and hold is always a good idea and i believe that of we invest in good coin that has a potential we can maybe earm a lot.
