Islamic Coin makes some difference from other crypto in such a way that it operates on the Haqq blockchain, which they say is an “ethical Web3”, designed to be autonomous, immutable, and independent. The blockchain is built on the concept of proof-of-stake (PoS) mining, so that Islamic Coin is decentralised. PoS mining makes sure that energy consumption is low, compared to Bitcoin’s proof-of-work method and what makes it a Shariah compliance is that activities that resemble gambling or speculation are not allowed, Engaging in uncertain transactions is not allowed, Transactions should be backed by tangible assets and excessive risk-taking is discouraged.

It will be interesting to see how Islamic Coin's unique features and ethical framework will influence the broader crypto landscape and attract more investors seeking halal investment opportunities. As the project gains traction, its impact on the industry and its acceptance within various financial circles will be closely watched.

I believe that the market needs stability, especially the market for crypto projects and currencies. And this is exactly the kind of stability that the Islamic Coin project offers, and it wants to achieve it through the values that are inherent in Islamic finance. Will they succeed in doing so?
Probably, yes, because they have raised $400 million for this purpose, so I consider them a dark horse that will jump over everyone like an Arabian horse!

I read this topic and the comments on it and I had more questions than I received information. Is this coin called an “Islamic coin”? Is it a cryptocurrency or a government-owned CBDC? Who issues this coin and will it be backed? And finally: was it released in September or not?
The OP needs to provide more information and link to a detailed description of it. Otherwise, it is completely unclear what we are talking about here. The fact that it meets the requirements of Sharia and ethics relates to religion, not finance, and therefore is not the main thing in this forum. But the organizational, functional and financial parts of the issue have not been clarified at all.

The announcement thread could perhaps be displayed here so that it doesn't confuse many people and make them think that Islamic coins don't exist. When cryptocurrency is mixed with religion, it seems like it will have a negative impact because there will definitely be a lot of attacks when someone doesn't like the Islamic religion, and of course it's very sensitive.

Hi all ! Can anyone explain what is meant by the phrase "Shariah compliant and ethical currency" ?
As for me - money (any fiat money, crypto-token or any means for mutual settlements) is just a tool. And how a person uses it is another topic. As we know man, as a species, is peculiar to use even the best inventions not always for the benefit of mankind, which proves a lot of examples from our lives ...
Actually there was a question from the field of religion and technology - what technology of this token will ensure its compliance with the norms of Sharia (what exactly) and ethics (what exactly ethical norms) ?
