Looking at past, I'd say no. Solana despite being cheap is not a dependeble network, it has had frequent outages. How many ethereum had? As far as In know — none (Though, when ethereum gas fee reaches 200 gwei, it's as good as an outage ).
You know if Solana were to go down one time, it's understandable but if it keeps failing again and again, there is something wrong.
Solana often experiences network outages for hours this results in many transactions being choked up, I don't know what happened to Solana so often experiencing it how the developers are they not so able to optimize better than other networks.
But behind many failures there is also a lot of support from the community to stay loyal to this coin and even memes can explode again on the solana network which may be due to lower fees than ethereum which is so expensive.
We know many new and successful projects with large funding choose the solana network over the Ethereum network.
I looked at their uptime status website, and within the past 6-9 months, it only happened once in February of 2024, and it lasted for 4 hours.
Since then, there hasn't been any reported outages on the network.
I guess we can say that at least there's some improvement already compared to the time where major outages are happening one after another. Despite the outages, the community behind Solana is huge hence, they are still one of the top coins right now in terms of market cap. Aside from that, there has been new projects that are being created under Solana, and we've seen projects like JITO, Jupiter, WIF, and other more (more in the future). I don't know if this will happen, but I saw on Twitter regarding Solana being the next ETF that will get accepted after Ethereum. I see this totally absurd, but is there a chance for it to happen?
Overall, both Ethereum and Solana and excelling on what they're doing. There are new projects being created under SOL, and new projects on ETH as well.
