Roma finally gained an advantage over 10-man Athletic Club. I thought they will be held to a draw but the constant attack finally paid off for them. Unfortunate for Athletic club being down to 10 on the 85th minute but kudos for trying to hold the line until the final whistle.

Well, Roma were able to get a last-minute goal that has given them the advantage they need going to the second leg in Spain. It looked very unlikely at some point that they were going to get a win from this game because Athletic Club were able to get the first goal in the game but lost it quickly, and the game stayed without anymore goals until the end. The game is far from won; Roma still have a game on their hands when they go to Spain.

What a result that does not match expectations. It turns out that Roma can really anticipate all the bad attacks from Athletic Bilbalo which is indeed quite strong.

Bilbao took the lead first with a goal in the second half by Inaki Williams. However, a few minutes later, Angelino equalized for Roma. and unfortunately for Bilbao because they had to get a red card in the 85th minute. and after that, Roma was able to optimize the chance to score a goal in extra time.

Viktoria Plzen Vs Lazio was pretty dramatic. Lazio scored an opener early on, Viktoria equalised in the 53rd, then Lazio lost 2 men due to red cards in 77th and 90+3 but, despite being down to 9 men, they scored a winner in the last seconds.
I've only watched short highlights so have no idea what those 2 red cards were for and whether or not they were deserved.

Finally AS Roma was able to secure victory in the first leg, they managed to win narrowly 2-1 from Bilbao. Although they were behind first, they were able to turn things around so they could win.

They deserved this victory because in terms of play they were better than Bilbao. They managed to implement a good strategy and the players on the field were also able to execute it well.
