Espanyol should be an easy opponent but Don Carlo must rest some of their best players in the Copa del Rey so they can be fit for the trip to Atletico on matchday 23 and the trip to the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of the UCL playoff round.
No, it is not an easy team to defeat. You can see there is no goal in the first half of the match. The stats look not really good for Real Madrid as well. Although Real Madrid played with the best lineup, Espanyol look having a good motivation to challenge Real Madrid. I hope Real Madrid will play more offensive in the second half of the match.

You're right about Espanyol. It looks like Madrid underestimated Espanyol.
When Antonio Rudiger was injured and replaced by Raul Asencio, there was a hole in Real Madrid's defense and too many sideways passes and moving the ball too slowly.
Overall, Madrid looked tired from the midweek game. Valverde, Bellingham, and Mbappe were flat.
Ancelotti should have at least given minutes to Arda Guler and èndrick ...
With Madrid in this form, how can we be sure that they will be able to beat City at the Etihad?

Yes, it is a very interesting match, because Real Madrid are in the play-offs and they have to beat each other before going to the round of 16.

I was actually quite sad to lose one of the two teams that have dominated the Champions League in the last few seasons and that was before they could even get to the round of 16. But now we have to see it earlier.
In this month, Real Madrid have very busy schedule matches and almost play more than 6 matches until four weeks later, firstly will face Espanyol at La Liga match and few days later will play at copa del rey round of 16. Upcoming match have derby match against Atletico at La Liga match before facing Manchester City at first playoff round match.
Carlo Ancelotti will rotate some players keep effective every match in domestic league, copa del rey and get the knock out round ticket in Champion League by defeating Manchester City.
This is a challenge for them, because they will be required to do their best to prevent their players from experiencing something undesirable. Rotation is one way that can be done.

However, rotation also requires good squad depth, and the problem right now is that they can't have that because some of their players can't play. The choice may be that they have to make other competitions such as CDR as victims to rotate.

Crucial position for Real Madrid right now after Rudiger get injury and predicting out more than three weeks later, actually have most important match in this month not only at domestic league, Copa del Rey match but also Madrid will face Manchester City at playoff round match in Champion League get one slot for knock out round.
Madrid get loss in domestic league last match after defeating by Espanyol and upcoming match in La Liga will face Atletico due both teams remaining one point, if loss again Madrid will drop to 2nd place position.

Barcelona got a hard victory over slaves as they recorded a 1:0 victory today alaves prove stubborn in the first half as the game ended 0:0 at the halftime mark but in the second half Barcelona break the deadlock as the took the lead in the 61' minute through lewandoski  even though it was not a convincing result today it's a nice win for Barcelona as they keep on their chase on real Madrid who are in first position on the laliga table currently Barcelona has to be more impressive when it comes comes to smaller teams like alaves because at the end of the day goals scored too counts congratulation to Barcelona as they starts the new month with a win

This is a good outcome for sure especially when the player is going up against a strong defence line. Therefore, the goal in the second half provides an understanding of the idea that patience and work lead to something valuable. It could not draw the result that shocked the spectators to some extent, but the most crucial is the three points to fight at the highest level. Every match has its own storey and the most crucial aspect is how a team manages to handle pressure and emerge the winner. Naturally, in the future , it is desirable that the game is more realistic so that one has no opportunity to upset the progress of the team . Well done to those who fought the battle, hopefully there’ll be more such success storeys in the future.

Busy schedule for all top teams in their respective domestic leagues but that's part of the game now. A few weeks ago, RM looked to be running away for a one horse race but the other two were able to catch up. I think that's better for La Liga.

Don't worry about Madrid's clash in the CL first leg because City also had their asses kicked in a more humiliating way.

Mbappe finally seems to have woken up, now he thinks so
It does feel good to see Mbappe finding his foot at Real Madrid after a slow start. Seeing he appears as the second-highest goal scorer so far in the season means that his recent performance has improved and been impressive. If he continues like this, it is possible to see him top Lewandowski as the highest goal scorer of the 2024/2025 season

Mbappe is a testament that form is temporal but Class is permanent. Mbappe is one of the best players in the world and every guienue lover of football will love him effortlessly. Football is entertaining and we can't deny his impact

Real Madrid, which I had hoped would win the match against Espanyol, turned out to suffer a fairly bitter defeat by Espanyol. Well, it was unexpected to see Espanyol succeed in beating Real Madrid. And I think the people who bet on Espanyol winning were really lucky with their bets. I hope Real Madrid will get back up and play optimally in the next match in La Liga against Atletico Madrid which will certainly be more difficult.

Don't worry about Madrid's clash in the CL first leg because City also had their asses kicked in a more humiliating way.

It's like a battle between the two former giants. :D The difference was that one team lost 0-1 and the other team lost 5 - 1.
Worst City ball in years and Ancelotti overthinks the lineup and complicates things.
The victory will drive them to the knockout round but the fans will cry more at the end of the season. The tears...we needed this wailing. lol
Let's see what stunts they pull off.

Well, this is a unique moment this season. And coincidentally these two teams will also compete in the UCL. so let's see which one is worse between these two teams. Is it Man city or Real Madrid.  ;D

Good jokes :) Some statistics sometimes don't tell the real story.

By the way, I'm trying not to be biased here, and I'm not a Madrid fan, but I think Madrid will smash City.
Madrid's frontline compared to the City's frail midfield and defense.
Man City have no physicality or stamina in midfield, they have an old, slow squad.
The only clubs that can chat with Madrid are Barcelona and Liverpool.
So what's your prediction? Do you think Ancelotti can beat Pep's midfielders like Arsenal?

The current season has served up surprising outcomes for several prominent teams including Manchester City and Real Madrid. Since they set challenging expectations regarding their performances as well as their style of play any unexpected result causes people to wonder. Football generates unexpected circumstances which cause teams to experience significant shifts in their performance levels both up and downward during short-time periods. The current state of play does not reveal their final strength level because the Champions League tournament continues. The fascinating aspect of this scenario lies in their reaction to adversity through either increased strength or greater obstacles. The competition continues due to which team can overcome this challenging situation better.

I can't imagine how the two well-known former giants of the Champions League will battle it out to keep their standing in the Champions League trophy alive this season. This match between both will be like a battle of the Titans for both teams to reclaim their mandate to still give their fans hope that all hopes are not lost for them even though they are performing poorly, they can still get to the top to compete for the Champions League trophy, which I doubt anyway.

After Rudiger and David Alaba out from squad awhile due injury, Real Madrid only have two centre back left Assencio and Vallejo, crucial position for Madrid due Rudiger have out and predicting will miss important match against Atletico Madrid upcoming week match and left opportunity for playing against Man City in Champion League for first and second leg match.
Actually Madrid have  Aurelien Tchouameni will put as centre back but its too risk for Madrid have to play without original centre back for most crucial match, wish Madrid can win in La Liga against Atletico and get one ticket for knock round in Champion League by defeating Man City.
