I believe that getting CP3 at this point in his career isn't something Spurs is doing for any playing reasons. Don't get me wrong, I am sure that he is fine for his age, but they have a very good young core and I am not really expecting him to make any big improvements on the team at all. What they are getting him for, is the fact that he is a floor general, basically some sort of assistant coach as well, hence why I think its not really a smart decision to get him for his playing, its smart to make him a player-coach type of person. Pop is old now, and he can't deal with all 15, there are AC's for that, and I believe that CP3 could help the growth of all these young players. I also do not think that all of them will stay, Wemby will stay, but they may switch some players in the future around him.

Yeah, you do have very valid points, and I agree that Spurs would be leaning on Chris Paul more on his influence on their young core general than what he can physically provide for the team, while he might be getting a lot of playing minutes as well, I think he'll have to do a lot of talking too, probably having Devin Vassell and Tre Jones under his wings, just like Steph Curry is doing with Brandin Podziemski.

It should actually be interesting to follow the performance of the CP3-Wemby duo throughout the next regular season. Given Paul's experience and his skills as a point guard, he will surely be able to create a lot of favorable situations on the court for Wemby, thus greatly increasing Victor's efficiency.

Yeah, we could see CP3 using his experienced and also give pointers to Wemby as well as CP3 has work with some athletic guys throughout his career like Blake Griffin when they are still in Clippers.

So most likely this is why they got CP3 to guide the young Wemby and we might see some alley-oop passes as well and it will make Wemby great and confident in his second season.

I was able catch the friendly match bewteen France and Australia earlier this evening and watching Victor Wembanyama still feel surreal like I've seen playing before, CP3-Wemby duo is going to be a really terrific combination going by what I was today. Victor Wembanyama already plays at the highest level, although there is till a room for improvement, but he'll be able catch up and adapt to CP3 style of playmaking in no time because what Wemby does around not experienced players is already beyond the every bar that had been set, let alone what he'll do when he plays alongside one of the best playmaker in league.

Coach Pop already know that no one can stop Wemby when he's on the paint because of his height, how athletic he is, and his huge wingspan that's why he tried to get a reliable PG that can help him score, and develop more. Coach Pop wants him to dominate inside the paint like what Yao Ming or Hakeem did at their prime years. Wemby's different, and although he played with a somewhat shitty team like the Spurs last season, we've seen what he can brings to the team, and take note that it's only his first year.

I agree with what you said that the Paul-Wemby combo would be an amazing duo, and I also feel that this duo will be the same as the CP3-Jordan back when they're still at the LA Clippers. Spurs might be called the new "Lob City" after the upcoming regular season because of CP3. Let's also take note that CP3 has a history of making teams better when he's on the team. Excluding the Warriors, all of the teams where he played became better. Will he do the same with San Antonio?

Seeing how Wemby played in some of their friendlies, i could say that the kid has improved a lot and pairing him with Chris Paul is a fun to watch. Yeah, we may see what CP3 and Griffin do in Clippers in their younger years but knowing how smart Paul is, Wemby will improved a lot this coming season.

Wemby shouldn't only continue to improve his basketball skills, but he should also join a gym. At least that will reduce the risk of injury. Besides, just imagine how much better he would be if he had the shape of Giannis.
p.s.
Honestly, I wouldn't rule out that the Spurs could even compete for a playoff spot next season if they can still improve their roster during this offseason.

Looks like USA team barely won two games in a row. I feel like they were friendlies and they didn't care enough, but its obvious that they are not playing with a system, which seems like a shame. I mean Lebron is carrying the team at 40 years old, and that makes no sense at all, there are so many young guys who should be doing very well, and not doing the way they are doing right now. In any case, I feel like we are going to end up with some good results, and for that reason I think its quite important to remember that this team could be much better, just because we saw them having trouble at friendlies, doesn't mean they are bad.

I think Team USA's coaching staff is experimenting on those friendly games, that may be the reason why we have not saw their full force yet. I browsed the betting website and the odds/spread of the game between USA vs Serbia has not changed, still the spread is high at 15.5, can the US team cover this spread? We might be deceived on their performance against South Sudan and Germany where the games were close.

To be honest, their performance against South Sudan was unexpected. Either the South Sudanese players were so good in this game, or the US players were too relaxed. Either way, I am still of the opinion that the US team, with so many all-star NBA players on their roster, will have no problem taking gold medals at the Olympics.

Coach Steve Kerr blamed himself for his lack of preparations in that friendly game against South Sudan. It's a mistake by them that they became complacent enough against them, but in the end, they still won on that game or else, it will be a huge upset for them.

Like you, I also believe that the US will conquer yet again the Olympics in basketball. Just by looking at their roster is enough to say that other countries doesn't stand a chance. Even there are many NBA players already that are playing in different countries, their level is nowhere near the US team in terms of the talent. Regardless of some of their close games being a closed one, I still believe that they will dominate it all, and win by an average of double-digits.

I think Team USA's coaching staff is experimenting on those friendly games, that may be the reason why we have not saw their full force yet. Yes, South Sudan really looks solid and they have built a good basketball program that's why it's no surprised that they have pushed the American so hard that we can smell an upset.

But Lebron take this personally and again, shows that he can lead this team. So yeah, chances for US is very high to get that gold medal again and make history for a 5th straight in the podium.

It looks like Bronny improved a bit after the whole "he is not pro" situation. I am still hopeful that this kid isn't some nepotism baby, I mean he kinda is because he became a good basketball player because his dad is Lebron James, but there is a vast difference between "he became good because of his father" and "he sucks but got drafted because of his father", those are very two different things. Nobody expects him to be an all-star, but I honestly expect him to have a 10+ year bench player career. Which is all you can expect from such a late draft anyway, so its not like the drafting him was for nothing, he deserved it with talent, which he got from his father obviously lol.

Whether Bronny's NBA career will be successful or not depends primarily on his desire and hard work. His draft pick doesn't play much of a role in that regard. A good example of this is Isaiah Thomas, who was selected with the 60th pick, but it didn't prevent him from achieving some success in the NBA. It should be noted that he really performed well in his prime, even despite his low height.
