^ Was it really that important if a player is the top pick in the draft or not? Sure being no. 1 is a good story to tell but it might work against them too. Anyway, great job landing a shoe deal at an early age. Hopefully, that doesn't distract his game. Fortune achieved early without great effort almost always get to their head.
At this current era, not anymore.
I mean, we've seen lots of top pick who became bust in NBA history. Players like Anthony Bennett, Kwame Brown, Michael Olowokandi, and of course let's not forget the great Greg Oden.
Being a top pick might be big for fans, but for the player, it might be the opposite because that adds more pressure towards him. As a top pick, the expectation towards him is at it's highest. Great job for landing that shoe deal this early because if Flagg will be drafted on the NBA a year from now, other shoe brands might try and get him. Nice move by New Balance. Anyway, he will be at the top of the draft pick next year that's for sure.
