Yes, I agree. One`s own experience with some service is undoubtedly of no less importance then the rating created by other users. After all, everyone has his own criteria of evaluation and by actual usage of some product you can better conclude about its features and reliability.

As long as services are concerned,  time will always tell, so regardless of how the voting system is designed it will still ball down to various teams with their own determination to build a well structured service that can easily attract trust and build reputations over time, so even if a services received a low voting rate at the beginning,  but if their continued with space of time, such low voting number can be changed and more positivity and communities trust will result in high votes.

I guess there should be no problems unless someone rates it one star
