The things I said before isn't some kind of fairy tale! They really check whether the parcel is of high value or not. Also all the airport officials follows this specific way! When they see you didn't bought much, they simply let you go, but when it's about money, jewelry, they target these people! I have seen many station where they illegally tried to seize the peoples funds, so I won't be surprised with such behavior.

Maybe it's easier to just travel to some country that is offering what you want to buy directly in their shop, but than against customs could mess with you for bigger items when you come back.

Maybe it's easier to just travel to some country that is offering what you want to buy directly in their shop, but than against customs could mess with you for bigger items when you come back.

You have a valid point, as long as it's not an item considered 'luxury' like iPhones (in which case people bring them without packaging box to claim personal use)... or by using redirection services, where I could negotiate with the forwarder to declare a value below the tax-exempt threshold, though I'm unsure if this tactic might trigger fiscal penalties.

That is an extremely good development! I've also been pleased to see several other actions like that, such as removing Tornado Cash from the sanctions list. However, President Trump has only been in office for a few months, and the actual effects of these stated policy positions won't be clear for a while. The Biden administration also said that mixers aren't necessarily illegal, and that they weren't anti-crypto. Actions and time will speak louder than words. So I probably won't consider reversing the mixer ban until Trump has been in office for a full year, and we have a fuller picture of how his administration actually operates in these areas.

As if mixers here will automatically abandon here and return to the other forum. It will be bad to treat the place that welcomed them in such a way. The managers may decide to run the campaign in the two forums simultaneously for sometime before they totally switch to the other forum.

I agree with you, mate. I also lose my trust level for Trump, haha, as he took a total reverse from his own words, where he was saying all countries need us , not we need them; they need to negotiate with us to settle down these trade wars, and we are generating $2 billion daily profit from these tariffs, and after all that, he is stopping this trade war for 90 days, and I am sure he must have a plan behind this reverse. This nice information. Thanks for bringing it here. I think the former president of US was not a crypto friendly one and if the current president is a crypto friendly one and which he has shown small, then mixers might come back to BTT again and the way it is, mixers will not stop advertising in this forum since they were not stopped when it happened in their BTT forum.  But once mixers accept to do KYC then the privacy of it has been eliminated.

I even heard people having issues because of sunglasses with customs

I think we could see EU and United States on different sides next year for many things, but let's wait and see.

Any ways, I did love to see mixers return to the other forum, while they continue being active on this forum as well, atleast, for the fact that this forum kept its doors open when the other forum shut its door against mixers.

Theymos is a very smart person and that's why whatever decision he takes has some good point of view behind it. He has been managing the forum for many years and he knows that how someone living in US having a forum like that should act.

That's why I think this forum is still the best place for mixers as of now and if in future mixers somehow get allowed to advertise on Bitcointalk once again then surely they'll get more exposure at that forum due to high traffic.

However, I still believe that this forum will continue to thrive and some of the mixers will prefer to advertise on this forum as well, and they won't stop their advertisements from this forum no matter if they get to advertise their services on Bitcointalk. That's my personal opinion.

SamReomo, it is clear that representatives of mixers will look for sites for advertising and stay on them for as long as possible, if there is such an opportunity and the advertising has a real effect. AltcoinsTalk forum is just very well suited for advertising regardless of the economic and political decisions of the US authorities. I agree, some kind of instant change when it comes to changing a decision would be hasty, and considering who is pulling these moves, I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually a trap aimed at getting people to relax and do things they wouldn't otherwise do - that way they become careless and easier to catch.

Well o well, let us stop assuming the thoughts and stands of Theymos as far as this mixer issue is concerned, most of the mixers already know both forums and have enough funding to run multiple campaigns on both forums and even outside forums too, so for sure there is nothing to worry about whether mixer banned is lifted in bitcointalk or not.
