I think it is important for mixers to try to eliminate those phishing websites. They are losing customers and probably getting a scammer tag because of those phishing websites.
The best way to do this is to intensify their community based promotion and encourage customers to locate them through a proven community.
I also blame most people who fall for these phishing sites. Is it that they don't know about forums or make extensive research before using any service. I will not be comfortable using a random mixer without the recommendation of a community, perhaps where I can take my complaints to.
Even here in the forum, if I want to use any mixer, I'll either click on any signature or go to their announcement thread, I have trust issues when it comes to urls.
If I must be honest with you, i would say that you really don't have to blame those who fall victim to scam as a result of choosing the fake mixer over the original one, and this is because level of IQ isn't the same for everyone, people reason and or think differently and under different circumstances.
There are people who for some reasons best known to them don't remember to do any form of research before committing money to a mixer and only will realize they should have researched before committing money after they have been scammed.
So in cutting down the rate at which people fall victim to scam mixers, it will be a collective effort from both the legit mixers, their community and the potential customers themselves, legit mixers have to intensify their marketing since sometimes, it seems to me like this comofladged mixers tends to carry out a more intensified or heightened marketing, making potential customers to discover them first.
