If he had the will to support his family, he would not have invested his entire salary in gambling. Your friend lost all the hard earned salary in one month in gambling. After losing your friend, you may have so much foresight that the money he worked hard for all these months is lost in an instant. If your friend is a sane person then surely guilt will work in him and he may quit gambling from next month. If guilt doesn't work in your friend's mind, if he acts in his mind that he will gain the amount of money he lost, then it is dangerous for your friend because he is going to lose money again. Imo gambling is not about do or dont go all-in, but to be responsible gambler and dont fall under emotions. If this was your friend, then where were you when he was loosing all the money? It could also be that OP's friend may have taken a big loan in the past and plans to pay off all past loans with that profit by gambling with the current month's salary. Or his friend was so greedy that he invested all his salary money in gambling and got more profit with the plan to do something in the future with that money. However, those of us who are over-predicting may not be right or something may happen contrary to what we think. However, a lesson to be learned from all these incidents is that it is never good to be overly greedy and expect to get anything together.
