Of a truth everyday newbie gets onboard the Crypto space and by so doing hackers are ready to take advantage of their ignorance to do away with their resources. Newbies who are not careful with their details always fall victim because of their carelessness and sometimes, curiousity makes them also become victims or targets of scammers. I agree, although by and large this metamask is not particularly needed.
