I don't think risk when investing in altcoin with short term because many top or potential altcoin have faster recovery to earn enough profitable with short term trading target.
But get small profitable when short term trading in top altcoin but not all trader interested with long term because they want to earn profitable every time or consistent.
Long term profitable in altcoin take around several years later because when market condition stable I think not all trader have patience waiting for long term with their trading in altcoin although as top or potential altcoin.

Holding altcoins and even doing DCA for altcoins are not the best idea if you ask me. This is my personal opinion and you do not have to agree with me. I have invested in altcoins for a while but unfortunately, I am always in loss with altcoins while I am in profit with my Bitcoin accumulations.

I have sold a small portion of my Bitcoin to buy some altcoins which I did, and bought some altcoins. Just so you know, I did not buy any coins that are not in the top 100 on coinmarketcap. These are mostly well-established coins and unfortunately, these tokens are dumping hard even though Bitcoin touched another ATH this year.
