Need advice for bitcoin wallet..

there are many of bitcoin wallet in crypto market but you should always collect the best and risk free wallet as I want to tell about some wallet. Electrum Bitcoin Wallet, Bitcoin Core, Coinbase Wallet, Coinomi, SecuX Hardware Wallet and Mycelium.

I would not include Mycelium in this list as they have started injecting ads into the program some time ago.

The best hardware wallet among all these wallets.

None of the wallets you mentioned are hardware wallets except for SecuX. And even then, you can find a couple other competitive hardware wallets like the Passport, Coldcard, Bitbox02 and the Blockstream Jade.


Having said that, everyone should just stick with Bluewallet and Electrum. They are the easiest bitcoin wallets to use.

I would just like to point out that such wallets also have one negative side - and that is that they are targeted by those who make fake copies of them, which means that you should be especially careful when downloading them. I don't know about Bluewallet, but Electrum has the possibility of verifying the file before installation, and this should be practiced especially in those cases when such wallets will store some significant amounts.

I mean anything popular is bound to be targeted by malicious actors. Regarding verifying install, idk technical aspects but blue wallet website has PGP key mentioned [1], can you verify install using it?

I noticed nobody mentioned aqua wallet.

It is a good bitcoin wallet.
It offers an easy interface for lighting network as well. Not for high amounts , as it is not a hardware wallet.

I can't tell you if it is possible to verify the BlueWallet file before installation with that PGP key, because I haven't tried - but that key has the note "PGP Key for BlueWallet maintainers", which could mean that it is used for the possibility of encrypted communication between BlueWallet maintainers.

The aqua wallet is a good one, but when it comes to privacy and anonymity, I wouldn't give it a 100% because there is no support for TOR.

Inasmuch as a wallet's efficiency is a criteria worth noting and considering when choosing or recommending a good wallet, safety, privacy and anonymity remains the primary criteria that should first be acknowledged and considered when recommending a good wallet before putting other things into consideration.

I think it is still at an interesting stage to use, considering that there is a built in marketplace feature that makes exchanges easier to swap to other coins... of course it is not suitable for storing large amounts of assets because there are still several shortcomings as suspected by @Dr.Bitcoin_Strange..

For everyday use this might help a lot, such as small BTC transactions to make online payments, or holding a USDT balance seems quite interesting.

For desktop wallet, I can recommend Electrum:

It doesn't have a fancy interface, but it's been around for a long time and has one important feature: replace by fee (RBF), which many other wallets lack. RBF allows you to bump up the fee if your transaction gets stuck due to block congestion/insufficient original fee (which is not uncommon).
Having RBF could save you some money in the long-term, as you could take risks and send non-urgent transactions with lower than recommended fees, and, in the worst-case scenario of it getting stuck, you can just increase it.

Exodus should be best for the OP regarding the fact that he is a beginner which he might either hold his wallet installed on the phone or a desktop.

Storing online also requires more protection by encrypting the file that is used as storage, so that if there is indeed a hack of a file containing mnemonic it will not be able to be opened without a password because it is protected.
I still use Winrar to lock files, which is important for dual security purposes.

Yeah, it is good to use a good password, but better to add an extra layer of security such as a passphrase. I like the option of extending your seed phrase with a passphrase, at least if your seed phrase is compromised, the attacker would still need your passphrase to be able to access your funds. However, i should add that your passphrase must be a strong one that is almost impossible to brute force.

This is a good tip, myself use password safe [1] on android, it's completely offline and you can encrypt backups so even if someone gets access to backup file they can't access the content without having the encryption password.
