When I saw this yesterday, I put it into practice by disabling my mention and karma notifications. And all the notifications from yesterday and today were muted and when I checked my post history just now, I discovered that I have some mentions and and also karma. So I think it is working perfectly. Thanks for the features. It is a gradual process that the forum is improving.

Thanks for the thoughts and the experience. Just a little note that this bot feature doesn't have to do with forum improvement directly but for the bot, but yeah you might consider it in any way

Dear PX-Z,

Is there any issue with the bot? Some notifications are missing on my side, especially the local board ones. Can you please take a look? I'm not sure what happened! As you can see, a user quoted my post on November 22 in my local section. But I wasn't given any notifications for that!

I have checked the bot logs, and everything went fine; the activity was logged as well. I could only think that this is a telegram issue because if there's something wrong on the bot's server side, the message will not be logged on my end, or an error will be logged.

I'm asking from this experience because I have encountered this problem several times in the past (in the early days, when you were implementing the bot here), did a report then and was fixed. Anyway, I have no idea how telegram can cause this! Weird bug I guess.

It may sound funny, but I still check my own posts to check whether anyone replied to me or not. I'm 100% confident with you bot at BTT, but here it's 98%. Ignore my sarcastic response.

Now that you mention it, I don't know about it, too, but as long there is a technical log error, I can say something about it but other than that, no. I can only speculate.

I can only think is, maybe it's something about the Unicode character used in your local language, but that's only a guess though.

I made an update regarding this issue. The update is regarding the conversion of Unicode, so I installed and enabled the proper extension in PHP on the server and did some conversion codes since I got a bad 400 error code from telegram after testing Unicode characters in the bot.

I hope this fix will cause no new errors after the update, lol.

Shouldn’t there only be one, since it’s the same post? For my bitcoin talk bot, double conditions only trigger a single notification (i.e in this case it would be only “mentioned”).

Update: I just got a notification from my local section. It's working now (somehow). But the texts are all broken, I have absolutely no idea which language is that, looks alien, lol ! At least it's better than not getting notification at all. I'm guessing the Unicode conversion or whatever it is, messed up!

That's a common issue. I get double notifications too. One for mention one for tracked topics. Well, it's only logical to have one!

Yes, I've checked the logs, and some users got multiple notifications too, but not every mention got multiple notifications, I'll try to get where this come from. Thank you for the feedback.

Btw, I think, I have seen such characters before, when you save a notepad containing Unicoded character without specifying the encoding format, this happens! It saves as some random messy unreadable texts!
