You can check some of the SimpleX bots in bitcointalk forum, there is eXch bot and Intercambio bot created by OrangeFren (I think).
I don't have any coding skills to help. but we can always ask help from those guys if needed.

Oh, let me take a look at this. I actually checked SimpleX Chat's GitHub for their bot, and it uses a different programming language than what I’m currently using. But let me see if I can do something about it.

I checked my telegram notifier and I couldn’t notice anything as such, I didn’t see any duplicate maybe it a glitch from your telegram or maybe from your network sever. Seems it will definitely be network sever or problem from your bot. Can you try and confirm it and check maybe it still happening again cause I quoted you and still mention you minutes ago. Try and check maybe the same problem is still occurring. @icopress

As far as I can see, you have similar notifications here, but on a different basis.
The first notification is based on how often someone mentioned you (or quote), while the second one is because you activated notifications on a matched phrase where the "phrase" is also your username.

Yes, this is the right answer, there's no optimization yet for this kind of "duplicate" notification, so you will receive every single notification when you track the same username and phrase.

Tell me if it's not working, quoting you for testing purpose. I usually receive notifications from mentions and other features even receive notification when you posted here.

That's great to hear! Let me know if something goes wrong with the bot again so I can check the issue and possibly find a solution.

Also, keep in mind that an edited post with your username or a quoted post will not trigger a notification.

It could be that case that the post was edited, I'll keep attention o the bot and notify you here if there is any issues. Thank you for the effort!

How many times does the bot scrapes messages? Just once?

I think (not sure though) that in the BTT version of the notification bot, if someone makes a post and edits it within 5 minutes, let's say he adds a mention or uses @, that person is notified even though the original message didn't include a username or @ mention.

Never gotten a duplicated notification like this before, but I am aware that the altcointalks telegram notification bot has a lot of upgrades to be done and a lot of malfunctioning features sometimes in the merits notifications and quotes mentioned that you also mentioned.

I hope that the owners of the telegram bots and forum admin will work out modalities to get the bot updated and running like the Bitcoin talk bot does.

In the post after the one you quoted, it was given a correct explanation of what happened in this case. And no, it's not any malfunctioning.
I've been using this bot since day one and can confirm that it's been working almost flawlessly for the past few months, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. Maybe if you could give a specific example that you noticed, it would certainly be useful to the developer

I tried this before, but it caused another issue where some users received multiple notifications, so I temporarily disabled the feature. I'll try reintroducing it and see how it works this time.

Thank you for taking a look into this.
After some time spent using simpleX chat bitcointalk bot made by tryninja, I think it has big potential and I like it more than old telegram bot.
Word of warning, tryninja said that bots in simplex are working differently because they don't use servers like telegram is doing, so there are some bugs along the way.
