I am not trying to justify why it is so common to see addicted gamblers, but I believe that the hardship imposed on people is the reason why people scrabble to survive at all means, and gambling recklessly is one of such means gamblers have resorted to in order to be able to cope with the hardship, but unfortunately, this has become a nightmare for most gamblers in that gambling has compounded the hardship and made the situations so worse due to the fact that items of value have been sold with the hope that it can be replaced after winning. Instead I would focus more on limiting deposit than session time. What a person might do, if he has said himself that he will gamble only 1 hour right now, and that hour is about to end. He might try to go all-in. Or of he leaves some balance and stops his gambling session, that money left will be on him mind and distract him from other activities. I would suggest to set a limit, for example $20-40 per week when person earn $1000. Gamble as long as possible and try to stretch that balance. But it must be done wise.
