Is money the real root of all evil?

I definitely wouldn't say it's the root of all evil, but it definitely gives entities who are evil more power and control.  Money is just a tool, ultimately.  It's unfortunate that being evil almost seems to make it easier for you to obtain more money, it's not always the case but you can definitely find more cases of corruption to get money than you can altruism to get money.

My view is money is not the root of evil but the love of the money is the root of evil,  perhaps we can say the root of evil is the mindset of the one who possess it, some love money and they are not evil, money is something that we need to love, our daily activities today we need money to take of them

(For serious discussion) I wanted to ask this question about that saying for a long time, if the love of money is the root cause, then are grapist motivated by it? They lust for something other than money right? Perhaps they don't have the status (which is highly based on income) to attract the opposite sex or pay so they take it by force?

Nowadays the more money you have the higher your status and power it depends on the person on how you use it some use it for the good where they help other people like charities also it can be bad if used by people greedy for power and fame.

You are right, money is not actually the root of evil but people handling the money makes it look like it's evil, that is we allow money to control us instead of us controlling the money and when that happens, we started misbehaving, acting in a way that is not pleasing and acceptable in the eyes of other people and also makes us live that will eventually give a bad result in the end and makes us regret for the rest of our lives but when we control money, we are entitled to do the things that will benefit us and others and also we should be contended with whatever thing we have or means or source of income and not be greedy or lust which might lead us to do illegal things in order to get money.

In fact, you don't need a lot of money to live life so just what you need to meet your needs. But there is no end to human needs. As i first bought a bicycle then on demand i bought bike and i want to buy car in future. In fact people cannot exceed their needs, so rich people want to get richer. On the other hand poor people want to be rich so lastly, the need for money is always present in people lives. But you can find more cases of corruption to get extra money. Money is important to man but does not mean that you should love money more than your fellow man because of you do that then you will be controlled by the love of money. You can do some nasty things just to get money and that is why one needs to be very careful with his decisions so that it does not hurt the other person. I do not think so, it’s like saying we don’t need money, but money sustains life. It will always depend on how you used your money. There are many meaningful things you can used money; e.g., build hospitals, feed the homeless, build schools, fund to teach people, charity works, help technology, supporting the government on enhancing its citizens way of living, and other many things you can do with money that is worthwhile. I have read about “the love of money”, it talks about every behavior of an individual not money itself that is the source of all different types of evil and distress. Money is ethically neutral; I believe there is naught wrong with money or the ownership of wealth. But, once money starts to control a person that is when the trouble began. People being controlled by money will feel superior and takes pride for power which leads to greediness and obsessions of an individual. He or She will enjoy the luxury of life, they will use their money to dictate and control other people for his or her will. Money is a necessity that is why people do fraud, insult, kill, and do bad things to have it. Hence, it is not “the money” but “the love of it” is the root of all evil.

Yeah, I don't also believe that money is actually the root problem here, but the problem is human. When someone is too inquisitive for money and wealth, such hot desire can make the person want to do any kind  illegal activity just to make sure they get money. For example, some people engage in kidnapping and robbery activities all in the name of making money and not just small amount, they want to make a quick huge sum of money. Money can only be the root cause of evil to anyone that has the thought of doing evil in their mind.
