Both. In my case I would say it's more of a hobby than a fun one, but the possibility of earning money is what makes it entertaining. If you have played cards with family or friends without money, for example, you will know what I mean. The moment you bet a bit of money the game becomes more fun.

Most of the people I know gamble only to make money and expect something good out of it. But very few people gamble for fun, only those with a lot of money place bets for fun. But mostly I have seen people get addicted to gambling for the purpose of making money. But when I gambled it was definitely to make money never to have fun so I guess people gamble to make money.

You are not far from reality. I gamble to make money and it will amount to being economical with the truth if I state otherwise. However, even though over time I gamble to make money, I am still having fun gambling. Well, the fun is not as a result of the game itself but as a result of the reactions from my friends when we gamble. We have this tradition among my friends to always sit out and discuss our games. Most times we laugh at each other when we lose and other times when there is a win the winner will sponsor our sit-out for that day. This has been the practice and that is why we all enjoy gambling.

This experience is so lovely that every Friday night we analyse Saturday games together and it is always fun doing it. Even though I engage in gambling for money, I don’t rely on it for survival because gambling is uncertain and if you depend on it you might suffer throughout life because winning isn't guaranteed. The only certainty in gambling is that you must lose. When you understand this fact, it becomes glaring why it is not a reliable venture. So, I have a job but gamble passively to win.

Yes, I'm gambling but unlike others, I'm not spending too much time and money on it. Kind of occasional gambler.
What type of gambler? Hmmm maybe a casual gamblers because I only gambler for fun and entertainment.

I know, most of the gamblers are gambling for money and there's nothing wrong with it. The problem though is that, if that's how they look at gambling, the chances of them getting addicted into it is quite high especially if there are times where they're winning lots of money.

Right now, I just stopped gambling again because I lost quite a huge amount of money. Maybe I'll bet again when the playoff starts (NBA).

To some people they feels gambling is an investment although it's partially true but most times it doesn't work as we may think because people only think of the benefit aspect of it without even thinking about the lose that surrounds the gambling itself, when you are very conscious of the lost associated with it there is no day you would come think to gamble with all you have rather gambling with just spare money or an allocation less than 2 percent of your monthly income with this you can maintain a long gambling practice without running into lost and want.

I agree with you, but what I disagree is when you said; we already know gambling is not a place to make money. Not everyone knows that gambling is not a way ta make earns, because most people think that betting is just like crypto trading, because of lack of knowledge about it.
In our society today most famous content creators and successful people do advertise most betting platforms, which will give most people the impression that they made it through gambling...

Personally I gamble for fun and not with the intention to make money from it even if there's a chance that a win might actually happen. The reason why I think this is the best approach to gambling is because it doesn't make you obsessed and addicted to the game, It's funny how people come up with ideas to try and make gambling a source of income, this is something that would only bring disappointments, everyone has their perception of things so I can't speak for others, but I think gambling for fun is the best

I am a as usual a general gambler I don't have much addiction on gambling and I do gambling for only entertainment nothing else. Although sometimes I gamble out of greed, but ultimately I try to stay within my limits. And it is never wise to treat gambling as anything other than fun.  And what type of gambler I am it varies from time to time but most of the time I bet on sports because I think that I have more chances of losing in sports gambling than in casino plot games.

I am interested in making money from gambling, but I am not desperate about it. I have other sources I make money from, so I gamble more for the fun of it and am not fully focused on making money. People who gamble with a full focus to make money will not easily accept losses each time, and they will gamble more than someone who gambles for fun. The last time I spent time gambling, I played slots. And my goal was solely money. Don't be too quick to judge me. I won bonus points and I needed to win real money with them. And that's all I cared about. At the moment, I have enough entertainment to devote time to gambling as a pleasure.

I guess there will be some point in all of us, that even if we started to target to win, there will be time that we all just playing to have some fun specially if we go out with our friends in traditional casinos because it is really very entertaining even if you lose money.
