To be honest yah friend actually play a great role taking the chances on telling you such, because most people are scared to tell someone how they should stake their games. Because there are two things involved either you endup hitting The jackpot or endup losing due to the advice. So all I can say is that, don't blame yourself or anyone whenever the game  endup not going your way, because a day would still come when that same friend would still give you related advice , there's still chances that you may still endup losing that bet following your friends instructions, so you may still one day decide to follow your gut and endup winning big.

In gambling, loosing the last game after the other games has entered is one of the most annoying experiences, I can relate to your experience, but not most of the time that listening to your friends will make you win, because they are predicting from their own personal experience.
Gambling is based on luck, just play what your mind tells you, for me I don't believe in listening to side talks when it comes to Gambling.

This is what makes it gambling you must be 100% accurate or right because if you played correctly without lost then other might not cashout big time since your lost is winning to other people, most times we might think our predictions are correct except we bet and see that it doesn't go as planned and we can come back to regret why not following our instincts the way we wanted. If I were you what I could done is to rebet the match and then change the game your friend instructed you, instead of losing all at once without winning.

There is no coincidence that exactly the game that was suggested to removed was the reason that he has lost. People always search for excuses for their losses. If that (Athletic) was a correct prediction, and OP would have lose due to other wrongly predicted game, I am 99% sure that there will be someone to blame for that also. And this is actually ok. People always blame everyone.

Anyway, those factors and events might be caused by your ego that you think that you have made the right decision but in the end, it didn't work. It's just a lesson learned for you knowing that it could've been done differently. It's just that you should be taking accountability with your decision and you shouldn't beat yourself too much about it. You can recover.

Sometimes in gambling your instincts can't always be right, if you know someone that has ore insight than you just listen the person. Before I understood anything about sports betting I have this friend that's very inclined with these things do before playing any game I send it to him first to cross check and edit if necessary. That could be a double-edged sword, i mean if you listen to your friend and that bet still loses then you would blame your friend for listening to his advise. Better to let things be what they are or shall we say, the luck has not sided you this time around maybe next you will have luck and win but never ever blame anybody or yourself for the loss.

Yeah I am seeing the same perspective as well since I believe luck is luck. But with sportsbetting for me it sometimes need a thorough analysis of the team you are bullish on placing bets. Maybe his friend is a super fan of that team that might get him every details of the teams players who he think is best and who is not to join the said match. Nobody knows it all when it comes to gambling, and the advice your friend gave, although it is knowledgeable, he was just lucky that the thing went his way because sometimes even when the odds are against a team they still end up winning the game. For instance, a gambler will stake $10 with a potential outcome of $1000. If the game doesn`t play, the gambler will say he lost $1000 rather than saying he lost $10 lol

Yes, that is not a wise idea, because they only look at the benefits they can get, while gambling depends on luck.

It is also not uncommon for someone to become an addict because they expect too much to win. Even though as long as they try they never get what they expect. In any case, we must be able to adjust and think realistically, especially in something that is closely related to luck.
