In the early years, CZ and his Binance didn't actively cooperate with the regulators, and he started to do so only after the regulators became interested in him and put pressure on him.

I don't think CZ was lucky at all, he just had enough money to pay so they could give him minimal prison time.
Anyone who owns a lot of bitcoin will be a target sooner or later.

Or he did turn out to be a whistle blower, giving all the government want they wanted as far as Binance transactions goes and where this money being laundered. So in short he open his book to them.

So it's obvious that it's not about his Bitcoin, they have been suspecting Binance as well catering to this criminals and the US government wanted to get their hands on those info.

Well that is obvious.
You kind a have to give up your money and information you have to the government agency, and than they reduce your sentence.
We have many examples from other cases to prove that, and it doesn't really matter if you are actually guilty some something or not.
And it is about his Bitcoin, it is about everyone else Bitcoin also.

A court has refused to grant bail to Binance employee Tigran Gambaryan, who was arrested in Nigeria.

P.S. This news, indirectly not related to CZ - but directly related to Binance's new CEO Richard Teng.

Binance CEO Richard Teng said that Nigerian authorities demanded a bribe so that "there would be no problems":

1. Binance tried to cooperate with the Nigerian authorities and helped them in every way possible.
2. In January, Binance was invited to a meeting, and a delegation went there. Upon arrival, the exchange was accused of breaking the law and was going to arrest its employees, but then everything was resolved.
3. When Binance employees were leaving the meeting, unknown people approached them and offered to agree to secretly pay a large sum of money to settle the situation - the employees refused and left.
4. Binance and Nigerian authorities agreed on a new meeting in late February, everything went well, but a couple hours later Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla were arrested and accused of terrorism financing, money laundering and naira collapse. The officers had their passports taken away.
5. Nadeem Anjarwalla was able to escape, Tigran Ghambaryan is still under arrest.

I suspected from start that CZ was going to be released earlier than it was planned, and I think I even commented about that somewhere in forum.
His whole sentence was one big joke because they made a deal with the government, but he had to serve some time in prison to look more realistic.
Next is probably a deal for a new netflix movie and a book about this experience...

Contrary to the expectations of some community members, Binance founder and ex-CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) will not be released in August, Protos reported.

Some thought the entrepreneur's release date would be August 30. This would have been assuming his incarceration day-after-day after the verdict was announced. In fact, lawyers “made sure” that Zhao had time before his incarceration.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, CZ is scheduled to be released on September 29.

Didnt I told you he is getting out of prison earlier?
I think we are going to see a lot of big changes with Binance soon, I expect to see CZ kissing government asses, and maybe we are going to see new arrests ''thanks'' to him.
If I was in his place I would finally get my passport and move to some neutral location, or they will continue to milk him in future.

Do you have any other source for that news, other than the tweet from some random Twitter account? I tried googling it and coulnd't find any news whatsoever about it so for now I am skeptical.

A new class action lawsuit has been filed against Binance and its founder Changpeng Zhao, now serving time in prison, in federal court in Seattle.

They are accused of harming customers by laundering and storing criminal funds. According to ConsenSys lawyer Bill Hughes, the plaintiffs' attorneys are well qualified. They have represented groups suing Facebook for privacy violations and intend to capitalize on this lawsuit.
