Most ICOs are long but there are shorter ones as well. I usually prefer the shorter ones. The longers ones keep you in suspense

Unfortunately, recently many projects are forced to extend the ICO period  due to the low activity of investors. And it, in turn, is caused by uncertainty in the future of the crypto-currencies due to the continuing speculations on the market

Yes it actually depends on the project road map and sometimes it is also extended for the purposes of meeting the project set goals and objectives. Most ICOs ends as plans because they hit it's soft and hard cap respectively, and some may even extend for more investors to purchase it shares of the coin/token there by making the ICO last longer than it intended.
I think everything generally depends on the firm's set target.

I think most ICO's are long in order to make time to get more investors to fund their project. Within a short time, people will not be able to buy more coins, but if the time is extended, it gives the chance for more people to buy coins.

This is true mostly of ICO periods long especially the projects unless of selling like hardcop but anyway if it is completed very early then the ICO will decide to stops and announced the main sale of bitcoin and calculated the members according to there ranks of token.

I got you! But most of the bounty hunters prefer the shorter campaign. The longer campaign adds more participant and those of higher ranks will just join in the last part of it, making the token to reduced during distribution. 
But on the project side its good because of long exposure to the potential crypto investors.

Some of them have been ridiculously too long lately... Ive had two I'm STILL working on since February without giving better bonuses or anything.... pretty messed up imo.. just take the soft cap and move on, let your worth be proven out on the exchanges.   Wish there was some unsaid rule where if you extend past your date, you have to double the bounty bonus.

I agree. And sometimes it happens to extend because of unachieved goals.

It is true mate. It depends on the roadmap set by the team.  You also can choose the short project about 2 or 4 weeks.

Some of the ICO periods are longer, for me I think it is better to really have enough time to persuade investors and the great chance to spread the news about the bounties in any other way such as advertising in any websites. But some ICO have a short peroids it depends of its aims already reached.

I think If the ICO periods long, we can get many tokens. If you ranks is high, you can join in short period. It is my opinion.
