I think karma will come to your account depend on post qualities, if you have good and educative post seems not difficult your karma will increasing depend on how many meaningful or your post. the same with other forum on bitcointalk, appreciated by sending merit if you have educative or meaningful post.
First need increasing post qualities and then you will get large amount increasing karma with your account, admin have rule with karma system and need to make better post in the future in want get many karma points but the sender or karma get limitation in daily day around each 10 hours for sending it.

Since the OP wants to know about karma and how to give karma or when to give karma, they should discuss these things. To whom he will give karma or to whom he will not give karma is entirely his own matter. If the post is constructive and another member benefits from reading that post then that member can give karma to another member. However, a member cannot give karma at will because the minimum qualification for him is to be a senior member. Yes, only senior members rank and above can award karma, and I believe the reason admin did not make it general for everyone to give out karma is because they do not want people to abuse it, and being a senior member ensures that everyone knows you have mastered the forum. Though I also appreciate if everyone has the right to provide karma because there are some quality posts for which I used to wish to give karma.

Karma has been around since the beginning of the forum, but I don't remember saying (and if I said that in some post I was wrong) that the chat was also on the forum at that time, and it actually isn't, the chat has been running since earlier this year, when teleported BTT (and maybe other forums, but I'm not sure) users started signing up. Looking at the dates of some threads, we can see that karma was established on the forum just two weeks after it was launched, although I suppose that during those two weeks the administrator had to adjust and configure many things.

I can answer based on my decision to give karma yes I give karma and those post viral kinds of stuff especially if it is a lower-rank member so he can rank soon and encourage him to do what he's, every member has a different opinion when it comes to giving karma but I'm sure it's more on quality posting and very informative.

I get a few karma a week usually. Normally I get more karma when I post a new thread on a useful topic, but sometimes even replies in some of the threads gets me a karma point or 2.

Only the senior members can give yes, but that is only to keep the abuse low IMO. There's plenty of users who give karma though and according to the monthly stats many are getting karma easily.

Doesn't karma never affect the ability to rank up to Legendary? I only had less than 50 karma at the moment, but my rank suddenly rose from Hero to Legendary. In my opinion, the increase in rank on the altcoinstalks forum is only influenced by activity, where every time you post or create a thread will give you activity which can be used as an automatic requirement to increase your rank.

Karma may be more considered for higher ranks, such as Myhtical or up to the top rank. Because I believe forums still need quality for users who are entitled to high rankings, not just quantity of posts. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ranking up is influenced by activity only, that's right. But you incorrectly understand the way activity grows. Not each post will give activity, and even if the post meets the requirements for giving an activity, if your account doesn't meet the criteria for the next rank, your activity growth will be frozen until your account will meet the criteria. Activity and post number are not the same.

So, you'll get the next rank as soon as you'll get enough activity, but you'll have no option of getting enough activity if your account doesn't meet and mandatory criteria for the next rank.

What you say is correct, karma does not affect reaching a new rank. This has been the case since this forum was born, but it is something that will change in the future. The admin is working on a new system where certain ranks (as yet unknown) will need an amount of karma (as yet unknown) to obtain the next rank. Although I have already said (and many users have asked this too) it in other posts, I will repeat it again: it will have nothing to do with or be similar to the BTT merit system.

I think bwe have discussed this and answers we given from admin and other staff that +karma has nothing to do with some rank up but it is to give because of the quality of the person post. And I think ranking up to s base on your activeness in the forum with the number of post you have and not karma. You make more research on this karma issue. When we came first karma was the major discussion in this forum and admin and others have clear the air foe us so when karma issue is raise then we o ow that is either a newbie or -karma was the issue.

Since the forum is online, karma (positive or negative) has not influenced the user to reach the next rank, and that is something that continues like this. But the administrator is working on a new karma system in which an amount of positive karma will be needed to promote to the next rank. We still don't know when the new system will be implemented or what requirements it will have.

It's subjective though, maybe there are members who just their comment and give karma even if it is one liner. So for me, as long as I like what I'm see in the post, regardless of the rank, I will give him/her the karma.

And seeing karma is your account could really inspire someone to make good and quality post and be helpful. Even giving a a outside link and we read the content we might give him that recognition by giving a karma. I don't what to compare it to btt forum though, in the other side some people might have their own criteria but then for teleport members like me, it could be different on how we will want to share our positive karma here.
