We already see these people on news and social media and yet we still became one of them if we are irresponsible enough. I had a direct discussion with an addicted gambler where he admitted that when he gambles he cannot control himself, especially when he loses, he becomes so aggressive to recover the loss that his normal senses do not work at that time. When the gambler himself says he is addicted but at the moment when asked to come back from the position, he focuses on the issue of his losses. That is why he cannot come back. Every gambler must be aware of that issue before he becomes addicted, otherwise it will be difficult to recover from it. The more time the gambler spends in gambling, the greater the possibility of his becoming addicted.

Gambling addiction sets in when a gambler can no longer control their urge to gamble, they allow the habit to metamorphose into an uncontrollable lifestyle and it eventually destroys their thoughts and mentality. All they care about and think of is looking for means to get money to gamble. I know of a guy back then in my university days who was an addict, he used his school fees to play pool and bets and it got to the point of using his accommodation money to gamble. The situation was terrible and he began to borrow from friends and family members just to gamble without them knowing he was using it to gamble. He is currently regretting his actions then because if he had listened to advise, he would not have had this issues he is currently facing now . Sometimes it is good to gamble moderately so as not to let it get over us because if it does, it would be very risky and difficult to control.

excuse me for sharing such a brutal story but there is even a story where a man kills his pregnant wife, his three children ages 7 and 5 and 3 before committing suicide himself the relatives knew that he would gamble almost weekly which led him to building up a debt it is a reminder of what a gambling addiction can do to you this was from 2 decades ago but may it still serve as a reminder for gamblers to gamble responsibly and for those who have a family relative or a close friend that seems to be strugging with gambling may you also help them

Here in my place there is this incident that gamblers stab other gambler to death because the victim just call for a bet but did not pay the suspect wherein it won that match because of addiction the victim just go for his instinct but unfortunately he lose the mat h and refuse to pay that is why the suspect stabbed him.

Gambling can affect us negatively when is being done excessively, just like alcohol and drugs gambling can stimulate the brain, and it becomes an  addiction , it can cause anxiety, stress and depression when it is excess. If you have a problem with excessive betting, it will push you into boring and owing debt .
