Gambling isn't something that's easy to predict the outcome, else we would've been seeing so many people who would boast about having an honest living via gambling.
Gambling is so unpredictable and a responsible gambler would know that the odds are always against the gambler and in favour of the house. I remember when I made a huge profit from a bet that I didn't take seriously, I just played for fun and I staked very low, it wasn't even up to a dollar but to my greatest surprise it played out. from my experience you don't need to always risk a high amount of money, it's better to just stake low and chase high odds, people might not like this because the chances of winning a bet with a small odd and staking with a huge amount is quite high but what if it fails? Always think critically before making such moves
