Before all these web3 games started mainnet Airdrops were paying a lot of money but back then the users weren't so many compared to the current amount of users participating in AirDrops now. The thing is you can be consistent with the contemporary airdrops but won't gain anything significant because majority of them now are just out to scam or use people to boost their social media accounts. Cartizen has just proven to a lot of people that so many AirDrops coming up now is a complete waste of time, I also thought the Airdrop would do well due to the high listing prices on different exchanges but it turned out to be the complete opposite  of what I expected

Airdrop of then and now are not the same thing as their are lots of people in the system which makes the rewards very poor and unreasonable enough to discourage people from continuing with airdrops. People I think that benefits hugely from airdrops are the people with large followership as most airdrops rewards are referral based airdrops and they get rewards for every member who registers through  their links. These are celebrities and influencers who have a very strong supporter base. So if you must benefit in airdrop, you must also have a large followership strength, or possibly be doing otherwise with accounts but I think it would be very difficult as it is stressful and time consuming unless you have decided to take it as a full time job before you could be relaxed to doing airdrops.

Look at hamster Kombat after farming the Airdrop for more than 4 months tirelessly they listed at a very low price and again the allocation was really poor. If this is coming from the project with the highest amount of users means that a lot of people are no longer going to take crypto Mining serious again. People were rewarded according to their hardwork, hamster Kombat is a very poor Airdrop that just wasted our Time and efforts. I heard that someone quit his job because he had high hopes on hamster due to the profit per hour had forgetting that they are other factors to qualify for the Airdrop, after quitting his job from the allocation given he only had 152 hamster which is very poor. Moral lesson if this entire story is for you to reduce your expectations on airdrops do you don't get disappointed.

Airdrops are supposed to be handled with fairness and equity although some airdrops were not fair just as you have said and can say that some messed up big time. But one thing airdrop participants should have at the back of their mind is that airdrops are just like gambling your time and efforts with the probability of you winning or not although gamble is a bit different because we could say we gamble for fun but airdrops are not like that and it takes lengthy time of engagements and efforts to accrue points or tokens or one being eligible for distribution.

You made mention of someone resigning their job as a result of their tokens probably that must be a newbie and I would blame whoever onboarded him because they didn't really educate him on how the Crypto space works maybe the person just onboarded him for referal rewards without properly educating him hence his silly mistake.

Airdrops are not bad but just that the risk involved is very high and with respect to the project you mentioned, they listed at a good price but they could not manage the allocation. At first they made a mistake to allowing the participants go beyond what they could be able to account for and that  was the beginning of their failure because there was no way the distribution could be satisfying to the needs of the participants. Yes they got the tag the highest Airdrops distributor in the Crypto history but it was a big shambles and it affected the project so badly. I don't think they would be able to recover from it again.

The main challenge is how to identify the scam airdrops among them all?
It is likely hard to differentiate because they both have the same pattern these days.
I don't believe in airdrops, but this recent telegram p2earn games made me believe them, and now they have pushed me out with dust they were given in the name allocation.

The only advice I have to people doing airdrop is, do not believe in the airdrop until you get paid, and you should put it at the back of your mind that you can get scammed at any moment.

Like you said airdrops are rewards given to participants for their activism and hardwork, it's actually discombobulating that this also involves luck then what's the point of getting involved in the first place. People usually say that airdrop money is free and i think it's a dumb thing to say, I'd use hamster Kombat as an example, this project took more than five months to min, after several months of consistent tapping and doing other activities with your precious time that you would have put into other things, why would someone still call that free money? You actually worked for it and deserve to be rewarded but it's disheartening that these projects are just going to waste your time.

that is the problem with airdrop, farming, mining and giveaway sometimes it is just a waste of time but there are some you can actually benefit from just keeping trying maybe you can find the right one my advice is just do extensive research on any airdrop and token before you participate or enlist, check the community of the project or just pray it becomes enlisted and have a little bit of value.

Finding the right one is almost impossible because I don't really think there are legit airdrops anymore and my reasons for saying this is due to my personal experience, if you are talking about checking the community of the project to know if it's legit let's take a look at catizen, first of all their listing price was beyond anyone's expectations and the hype was extremely breathtaking, people felt like they were going to be financially free based on what crypto influencers said about the project but after accumulating two hundred million catizen they gave their users just 2 catizen, I don't think any upcoming projects will cook.

I do not think airdrop money is free. If you are talking of free, then it does not cost any much commitment or exercise to get but here  activities are done on virtually daily basis which is of benefit to the project, you commit your time, data and your social media handles to execute the task so I do not think it is free. The days of free airdrops are gone. Now the airdrops that  are given these days requires one to get engaged but however, the projects team are not considerate, they just do things anyhow because they feel they are doing the community good for the peanuts they would give out to them.
I wish it could be possible that airdrop participants begin to boycott projects that wants to toy with their intelligence, that would be quite nice and make them to sit up.

You can never know airdrop that will reward you but if you are smart, you will know better the ones that are scam and the ones that will waste your time and effort unless you are just greedy and refuse to do research. Most of the time, there are signs but the participants just refuse to look at those signs, they only want to look what's on their mind.

Farm the good ones, there is surely one that is going to reward you abundantly and I don't mean just the telegram mini games, those ones are aidrop, I mean the testnets airdrops and the ones that even include staking of coins, Binance and some other exchanges offer this sort of aidrops like launchpool.

The thing is that no one knows which of the airdrop will bring good results - those your friends you mentioned might start doing up to 10 different airdrops and at the end of the day only one out of ten will give them something while the rest will be dust.

Like I have said before we really shouldn’t give airdrops our full attention - do it only when you have the time, there are far more productive things online that can be done with those airdrop time and you’ll get more returns at the end of the day rather than just sitting on 20 airdrops that will give you dust or money that won’t even cover your internet bill.

People do not really do a thorough research before engaging in airdrop, they just see the hype and join them just like that without having clues what's up with the project. They fail to understand that airdrops are just a thank you for a job well-done by the project team, they do not care of the task you do, they just give you what they feel like and do not owe you any entitlement.

As a airdrop participant, what you just have to do is either you sell immediately after listing or you hold and wait for the project to finally develop to its maximum but doing so does not guarantee if it would end up in a good state.

The reason why you see a sudden increase in airdrops that are not paying is because of those few airdrops that paid well.

If you look well, you’ll notice that those new airdrops sprang up from nowhere the moment a huge project paid their airdrop participants good amount that’s because they know that they’ll be hype for sometime and people will want to hop into some few project hoping to get same reward as that big project but in the end they’ll get dust and that project would have gotten free publicity from airdroppers because of the referral program.
