This fight deserves a thread on its own because this is one of the biggest fight of this year though Canelo is still the favorite but upsets do happen nowadays and i believed that Jaime Munguia is a live underdog going into this fight.

What do you think of this fight guys?

Yeah, no one would doubt about that if we look at their stats. Younger, taller, longer reach, and also has knockout power? If there's an underdog that's really worth betting on, it's probably Jaime (he's currently @4.9)

For the younger fighter, this is a win-win situation for him.

^ its not going to surprise anyone if Munguia wins an upset. if not Buenavidez then Munguia is not a bad pick.  Canelo will only fight Buenavidez if paid up to $200M aaccording to one of his interview. yikes.

however Canelo still is an elite fighter in boxing.  i think Munguia's team is feeding their dog to a monster actually, its good to go out taking a risk but Canelo is too much for him.

I don't like this version of Munguia that body punch of Derevyanchenko won the match it could have been drawn based on the scorecard or, Derevyanchenko won the fight, depending on who won the final round and Munguia just did it with a 2-point advantage.

This is the reason why Munguia is an underdog going to the fight, he is slow and his timing is not perfect compared to Canelo, but whatever happens to this fight Munguia will learn or attain greatness, but he has a good future ahead of him even if he loses the fight, fighting Canelo is a learning process.

This might be the reason why Team Canelo chooses to fight Munguia rather than David Benavidez because the former is slow and is very beatable. Like you said, even if Munguia loses this fight, he will learn something from this and of course this might be the biggest purse that he will receive on his entire career.

Canelo is a good body puncher and Munguia is fully aware of that so they will avoid that one as long as possible but i do think that Canelo would catch him in the later rounds and might stop him so i'll go for a late KO for Canelo in this fight.

The difference between this fight and of that the Bivol fight is that the latter is much bigger than Canelo and they are fighting on a division where Bivol is comfortable.

I don't know, I don't quite buy that theory. Usually when someone moves up a weight class, they would have the speed advantage and the opponent would have the advantage of power. But it didn't look that way but almost the opposite. Bivol seemed to be the faster one.
Canelo can justify his loss by the need of bulking up, but if he overdid it to a point when he became too slow, he can only blame himself and his team.

Lol at Oscar, as if he can still fight today and pick Canelo, for me this is just for promotion of the fight.

I think Munguia has the slight advantage in height, and it's up to him on how to used it. But as I have said, I want him to be a volume puncher and initiate all the actions at least he could get a good impression from the judges and maybe steal some rounds as I don't see him knocking Canelo out for a win.

Just a couple of days and we will see how Jaime will do and if he can really pull the biggest upset this year.

Jaime is very open for a counter every time he does the volume punch. he wouldn't dare charge on Canelo head to head unless he also can see where the punch may come from while he is busy throwing punches. he isn't a technical fighter, no strategy but only making volume of punches. it works if the opponent doesn't stand his ground and just moving away.

Canelo is very experienced fighter but if it doesn't end in a KO then maybe the fight end in UD in favor of Canelo.
