Staking a Bitcoin address here can help a lot in the case of the need to prove the ownership of an account.

So it is necessary to leave a signed message here from an address to which have access. It is also necessary that any other member verify the message and confirm with a quote.
some ideal message formats:

purpose (Altcoinstalks)
address (it does not have to be an address that is actively used, but it is important that it is an address that is always accessed)

I know that people use metamask to sign stuff to log in. That can even be done with bitcoin using some wallets like UniSat (it is in my todo list to study)

In Trezor Suite, you can create a signed message using the ETH Address in Trezor (BIP137) or Electrum format (compatibility signature format).

You need to sign a message using your address.

This is how you prove the ownership of your address. If someone hack your account, you could sign a message using this address proving the ownership (the hacker won't be able to do it).

So you can recover your account using your address.

Most people who are staking addresses here are coming from bitcointalk forum and they are all using bitcoin wallets/addresses for this purpose.

In Trezor Suite, you can create a signed message using the ETH Address in Trezor (BIP137) or Electrum format (compatibility signature format).

Yeah, I know Trezor Suite has nice tool for signing messages, question is if it's compatible with all other ethereum wallets.

I can confirm that for Monero coin you can use Feather wallet to sign/verify messages and it works almost identical like in Electrum wallet.
Other Monero wallets probably have something similar.

It's a very useful thread created by examplens and I really appreciate that but when you use multiple wallets on daily basis then is it worth it to stake your Bitcoin address? I mean sometimes it's possible for hackers to steal someone's wallet information then in such case what do you guys prefer?

Is it possible to stake a Bitcoin address that you create on a offline machine or air gaped system? I believe it could be done with Electrum but I haven't done it with an cold wallet yet, but does anyone here doing it with cold wallet or you guys are stacking hot wallet address?
