You are talking about the past in relation to the future, I am talking about the present in relation to the present. If someone didn't have the internet, then he couldn't have missed it too much, but take the internet away from people today and things could look quite apocalyptic. What I'm talking about is the addiction to the internet, especially among young people, and take away the internet from them and just watch what happens.
I've seen young people literally being treated for internet addiction, and that addiction has all the elements of an addiction to gambling or anything else - without the internet, all these people would become a real problem.
Well, let's just say that I don't think 20yo internet or tiktok addicts are the cornerstone of our food supply

I understand that it would obviously destroy the lives of a few persons, it would render a ton unemployed, it would have a severe impact on trade and production but we are an adaptive society, hell we managed to fix all the damn supply chains after the crisis even with lockdowns we managed to get food going. I'm talking here from both points as a member of a family deeply involved in food production and from my current job in logistics, there will be serious hiccups without the internet for a while but nobody will die from hunger.
The riots will not be stopped when the internet crisis occurs, clearly it is because of a very vital blow... the world will be in chaos because I am sure no one wants to go back to ancient times again...
Ancient times? Like the 90's?

Guys do you realize that we had intercontinental travel, nuclear reactors, space programs, cruise ships and luxury brands, millions watching sports and attaining concerts, superspeed bullet trains and 300kmph formula 1 cars by that time?
