I agree, whenever there is a good reason to go up (after halving period) whales will try to make sure that people end up selling. There was a shorting run just before this, I think it was about 3 billion dollars worth, and it went down, imagine how much money those people made. They know what they are trying to do, doesn't mean they will achieve it each time, but they know that they wanted to drop the price and they did. You think they will keep dropping it more and more? Of course not, it would cost more and profit less, so what can the whales do to make more money? They will long it, meaning they will want it to go up, why? It will take less money to make more profit, since that side is lighter right now.
