I'm quite surprised that Man City wants to sell Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid. I see Man City only has 1 striker now, Haaland. I am curious about Guardiola's plan if Haaland gets injury. Man City has no option for a striker, will Guardiola to play with false nine strategy? Or Guardiola will sign a new striker in the near future?
Alvarez is a talented player, he would definitely prefer a club where he can play at his best with much higher hours.
From the news that I read, Pep is still looking at the market, before the transfer window closes, they will get a replacement for Alvarez, but it certainly won't be easy because even though he is a reserve player, this is Man City who already has high standards.
In the meantime, according to Guardiola, they also have a graduate from their 21-yo academy, James McAtee who has impressed him quite a bit. But of course, Man City will still be looking at the situation that is crucially needed.
