I am happy for him, as he did not deserve to be locked up in the first place.

I think the reason why they were so lenient on him was because they realized that they wouldn't win an actual trial against him, so they wanted to save face maybe.

And according to different news media, he only need to plead guilty to 1 of 18 charged offense which isn't that bad. Although i wonder what will he do now as free man.

I actually consider this to be a very lenient plea deal with the US government all maybe because unlike cases like that of Silk Road and even compared to FTX there is no money lost and there are no other complainants except the government. Plus, of course, maybe DOJ realized that it would just be a waste of time and resources going after a man who is not actually armed and dangerous. Now, there are many things Julian Assange can do like publish his own memoirs of his 12-year saga which can even be adopted into a movie where he can earn millions for the rights, go on a nationwide speech lectures sharing his story and the things he learned along the way and he can also start his own cryptocurrency project to be called as LEAKCOIN which will surely be big hit (just kidding on the last one). Surely, there are a lot of things he can do to capitalize on his adventure where can be making big bucks. For now, he can finally enjoy peace of mind in he presence of the people he love and can finally play with his cute dog (does he got one?).

His fame will make everything he says true, and some people can believe it, and he can write a book or document a period of what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq, and then the government’s battle against denying anything he says will be very difficult.

Should enjoy with family then do business as he usually do, maybe a new company that is related to his former job as a editor, publisher. But first he will probably publish a book related to his experience fighting on the past 14 years.

Information like what? The RNC email archive? Because that's the only thing I can think of that he hasn't publicly released.

Honestly, I don't think there's anything he had that they didn't already know about, because they've spent years tracking this guy, so they probably got a thousand-page dossier about him and his intel. So I think this is unlikely.

It is interesting and strange for the Assange saga to end in this way. After all those years of persecution, concealment, and asylum, he can simply obtain his freedom in exchange for his confession of his guilt. What a happy ending.

No one knows the truth, and no one knows whether there is a hidden deal between him and the United States government or not, but it is certain that in the future, many books and films will be published that talk about Assange’s story, and many novels and stories may appear, some of which can be believed and others are just lies for the sake of money and fame.

Some people already think Assange is a traitor because since he only leaked DNC emails but not RNC emails, that he was helping Russia somehow get Trump elected. But that's crazy to me, so I don't believe such things.

I don't know but they certainly didn't release him because of good behavior and because he accepted partial guilt.
Don't be surprised if Assange has some accident or serious health condition in near future... all because of terrible ''climate change''.

It's not really that important what information he has.
He was just an example what could happen with anyone who tries to go against them.
In reality Wikileaks didn't release anything seriously important for a very long team.

It's a great news that Julian Assange is now free and I'm very happy to hear that. Julian can now take a breath and enjoy his life. I still remember the day when Julian was given to US and thankfully that man is back to Australia once again. Although, he's back but I'm very sure he won't take any step like Wikileaks from now on.

I've always known that he was going to be extradited to the United States, but I'm not sure if this actually happened - I don't think so.

Regarding Wikileaks, it's not going to evaporate any time soon, because it has a lot more volunteers donating data and time to keep it maintained, even without Assange's help.

Many wonder why the US government gave up after so many years - but I think they finally realized that the UK will not extradite him, and that on the other hand tens of millions of $ in crypto-donations will not dry up and that they will not be able to destroy him financially.

The lobbying for his release finally gave results - and the US can be satisfied with the fact that he admitted part of the guilt and that he spent so many years in prison. The message is very clear to all those who will ever think of doing something similar - "we will destroy you one way or another".
