WTF is wrong with this company?

They, as a centralized entity, help finance Putin's army, North Korea, hackers, drones, terrorists, Hamas, and basically everything else negative you can think of.

They are the "preferred tool for money launderers" despite them freezing millions of USDT daily!

And they were close to FTX during the whole time the exchange was committing fraud! You have to wonder whether the people running Tether were committing fraud too, not only in this instance but with all the others I just mentioned and more.

I guess in case anyone is wondering why I picked my username, there's your answer.

I never liked Tether but connecting it with China, mad terrorists, hamas and evil Russians is just plain stupid.
There are many examples when tether was used in Ukraine, and most business accept USDT, like it or not.
I sure dont believe any reports and articles coming from bloomberg, walls street journal and similar main stream media.

I also don't think it's fair to blame Tether for all the problems on the website. Any tool that is useful to society can be abused by bad actors: a road or a car can be used by criminals to commit crimes, and the US$ is also widely used for money laundering purposes, and USDT is no exception.

Tether has made many efforts to comply with the law, and I believe they have no reason to put themselves at risk of losing market share, which is a multi-billion $ profit each year. The fact that Tether can freeze accounts related to crime has proven their claims to users, and we can temporarily trust and support Tether.

While I agree Tether was very shady in the past (and still a bit nowadays), I wouldn't use money laundering as an argument for that. More like, they constantly hid their reserves and could have no backing for some periods (no real proof, though).

And what about Monero? Is Monero evil and used by extreme money launderers?
We can say that every coin has some period of shady past but that doesn't make coin evil, this is not a living being.
I look at USDT as temporary replacement tool for fiat currency, but I always prefer cash in my hand than USDT.

Well, it depends on the mentality of humans that how they use a currency. There have been many similar allegations against Bitcoin in past about money laundering and its use in criminal activities but that doesn't means that Bitcoin is used in that way by all community.

Even fiat can be used for crime or money laundering and I believe the use of a currency depends more on the mindset of the users then the currency itself. I personally use USDT for trading purpose and for me it's not evil but that's my own mindset because I use it for a good and positive purpose that supports my needs.
