I never followed the Olympics closely, even though some streaming services that I used offered them. I'm not sure why, but one reason is probably because I'm only interested in a number of sports like football, volleyball, etc. If I'm free and bored, then yeah I can watch them, but I won't make an effort to follow them closely such as scheduling my day around them. Maybe the fact that there are tons of highlight channels on YouTube for a competition like this also reduces my interest in watching them live.
Yeah, it is comprehensible that not all people share the enthusiasm for the Olympics, which is more than okay. Some just do not have much interest in individual sporting activities or perhaps they prefer not to watch sporting activities that are not typically televised. And that's okay! Individuals have their own favorite sports that they like most.
Like, some people are literally born and bred with team sports as soccer, basketball, football and what not? They adore the passion, the challenge, the passion of wining (or even the fear of losing, lol). And that's awesome! Those sports attract a lot of fans, and it is so simple to fall in love with it.
But the Olympics, yeah, they are a bit different they are a kind of another world where everyone is trying to achieve the same thing. Many of them can be kind of obscure, and it is not always a pleasure to reach out to athletes you do not often cover.
